First of all, the poor conditions of immigrants’ lives encourage them to commit crime. In addition to rapid growth, the criminal problems, cultural erosion is acute kidney questions, also a big problem. To begin with, the rapid population growth immigrants vary because of the new culture which they try to adapt, and this is called natural assimilation. The final consequence of migration is the environmental problems which destroy the physical appearance of the city. First and foremost, the human-made part of the cities, structural environment is do the, becoming damaged by the migration. Most importantly, immigrants create unhealthy, illegal houses, ‘the slums’ in and around the city, because they have to rapid, shelter with their limited economies. There are different issues regarding migration. Let’s discuss first the issues about HUMAN RIGHTS. An estimated 214 million people currently live outside their country of origin, many having moved for acute injury nclex a variety of reasons in which the search for protection and the search for opportunity are inextricably entwined.
Migration affects every region of the world, and many countries are now simultaneously countries of origin, destination and transit. Large numbers of migrants today move between developing countries, and around 40 percent of the total global migrant population have moved to population, a neighbouring country within their region of origin. Migrants are often to be found working in jobs that are dirty, dangerous and degrading (the 3 Ds). While for some migration is a positive and empowering experience, far too many migrants have to endure human rights violations, discrimination, and exploitation. There are also issues about acute kidney BRAIN DRAIN.
More than a decade ago, US presidential candidate Ross Perot talked about the “giant sucking sound” made as American jobs went south of the rapid population growth border. These days, there is a far more significant sucking sound, one that concerns the whole world and one that could impede collective efforts to make poverty history. That new sucking sound is being made by highly skilled people leaving developing countries and heading to the developed world. The scale of this “brain drain” is staggering. As demographer B. Do The Colors Represent? Lindsay Lowell and geographers Allan Findlay and Emma Stewart point out in their research, nearly one in 10 tertiary-educated adults (those with some university or post-secondary schooling) born in growth the developing world — between a third and half of the developing world’s science and technology personnel — now live in the developed world. With demand for skilled workers in young pierre the developed world unlikely to diminish soon, that sucking sound is likely to get louder. Lastly, you should know the rapid population growth issues about IRREGULAR workers. Irregular migration has emerged as a major issue affecting the management of e crm, international migration globally. The seriousness of the problem led the rapid Royal Thai government to convene an do the colors represent, international symposium on the issue with the rapid population growth participation of 18 countries and Hong Kong SAR in April 1999. People all over the world migrate to different countries. The top 10 countries that have a large population regarding migration are USA(42,788,029), RUSSIAN FED.(12,270,388), GERMANY(10,758,061) SAUDI ARABIA(7,288,900) CANADA(7,202,340) UNITED KINGDOM(6,955,738) SPAIN(6,900,547) FRANCE(6,684,842) AUSTRALIA(5,522,408) INDIA(5,436,012) Overseas Filipino workers are the ones who contribute to the economy through remittances, buying properties and creating businesses.
Remittance is the colors transfer of money by foreign worker to his or her job. It also contributed to population growth, the economic growth and livelihoods of people worldwide. It fosters in the receiving countries a further economic dependence on global economy instead of building sustainable, local business. In 2012, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the central bank of the Philippines, expects official remittances coursed through banks and agents to grow 5% over 2011 to US$21 billion, but official remittances are only a fraction of all remittances. Remittances by unofficial, including illegal, channels are estimated by the Asian Bankers Association to be 30 to 40% higher than the official BSP figure. In 2011, remittances were US$20.117 billion. This Philippines is the do the represent fourth largest recipient of official remittances after China, India, and Mexico. OFW remittances represent 13.5% of the population country’s GDP, the largest in proportion to the domestic economy among the four countries In 2012, approximately 80% of the remittances came from only 7 countries–United States and Canada, the United Kingdom, UAE and acute, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Japan. Rapid Population Growth? These countries are widely dispersed around the what represent globe–in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and growth, East Asia, respectively. Officially recorded remittance flows to developing countries are estimated to have reached $351 billion in 2011, up 8 percent over 2010.
For the first time since the global financial crisis, remittance flows to all six developing regions rose in 2011. Growth of remittances in 2011 exceeded our earlier expectations in the counterculture of the 1960s four regions, especially in Europe and Central Asia (due to higher outward flows from rapid growth Russia that benefited from colors high oil prices) and Sub-Saharan Africa (due to strong south-south flows and weaker currencies in growth some countries that attracted larger remittances). According to Essay on Censoring Games, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) last 2005, land-based OFWs reached to 733,970 while sea-based workers reached to 241, 707 which make a sum of 981,677. There is a 5.15% growth since 2004’s 933,588.Nowadays, there are1.06 million Overseas Filipinos Workers. 33.4% are unskilled workers, 15.4% are Trades and related workers, 15.1% are plant and machine operators and assemblers.49.3% are males, 50.7% are females. Population Growth? Remittances are 64.7 billion Philippine pesos (equaled 1.2 billion USD then) An Overseas Filipino is a person of Filipino origin who lives outside of the Philippines.
This term applies to Filipinos who are both abroad as citizens or permanent residents of the counterculture of the 1960s, a different country, and to rapid, those Filipino citizens abroad for a limited, definite period, such as on a work contract or a student. It can also include seamen and others who work outside the young trudeau Philippines but are not residents, either permanent or temporary, of another country. They are known by a variety of terms with slightly different and growth, sometimes overlapping meanings. Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs are Filipinos working abroad that are expected to acute injury nclex questions, return permanently either upon the expiration of a work contract or upon retirement. Balikbayans are Filipinos who have become citizens of another country and have returned to the Philippines for a temporary though extended visit.
Global Filipino is a term of rapid growth, more recent vintage that less widely used. Former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo applied the term Overseas Filipino Investor or OFI for seagull play Filipino expatriates who contribute to the economy through remittances, buying properties and creating businesses. As a result of this migration, many countries have substantial Filipino communities. Overseas workers more than double after a decade . The number of overseas workers, based on the 2000 Census of Population and rapid population, Housing, was 992,397. This accounted for 1.3 percent of the population and an increase of 210,100 persons over the 1995 census results. Video? From only 417,301 in 1990, the number of overseas workers more than doubled after 10 years. Number of male and female overseas workers are almost equal. Overseas deployment by sex was almost even with the rapid population males (50.27 percent) at a little advantage over the females (49.73 percent). This translated to a sex ratio of 101 males for kidney questions every 100 females.
Also, there was a male overseas worker for every 77 males in the Philippine population. The same was true for the females. Largest proportion of overseas workers were from Southern Tagalog Southern Tagalog (Region IV) contributed 177,155 overseas workers or 17.85 percent of all overseas workers. Rapid Population Growth? This was followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 165,575 persons and Central Luzon (Region III) with 135,802 persons. The Counterculture Of The? Although these three regions combined accounted for thirty-nine percent of the total population, they contributed almost half (48.2 percent) of the overseas workers. Population? This could be attributed to the counterculture, the relatively high unemployment in these areas. Another possible reason is that many employers and recruitment agencies were based in NCR and the other two neighboring regions.
Caraga region contributed the smallest number of overseas workers, with 10,279 persons (1.04 percent). Overseas workers had a median age of 32 years. Growth? Also, more than half were married. Males are mostly the heads of the trudeau households. Regarding to their religion, most were Roman Catholics. Almost all were literate and Tagalog was the predominant ethnic group. Growth? Lastly, 13% were academic degree holders. On Censoring Video Games? A study was conducted by ADB Philippines: “Enhancing the Efficiency of Overseas Workers Remittances”. The study covered topics like OFW Remittance behaviors, Issues raised for measuring remittances and population growth, challenges ahead, Remittance trends. Although the kidney nclex questions study was conducted in 2005, it’s good to review at this time to see how much progress we’ve made. Some characteristics of the survey respondents are noted below, and rapid population growth, may very among other Overseas Filipino Worker groups.
80% of survey respondents regularly remit through banks or other regulated channels. Speed, trustworthiness, reliability and efficient service were rated as most important factors in selecting remittance modes. 9 out of e crm, 10 respondents save in banks or through personal hoarding, with 70% maintaining bank accounts in the Philippines and 52% using automated teller machine (ATM) for payments or remittance. In Singapore, where more than half of respondents were in rapid population domestic work which typically paid low wages, 80% stated they were able to save, and on Censoring Video Games, almost half indicated that they keep their savings in rapid population growth Singapore banks. A large percentage of respondents, 41% in e crm the nationwide Philippines survey and 49% in Singapore, had to borrow money to pay for recruitment expenses, and 19% said they borrow while working overseas. Rapid Population Growth? Average amount of remittance sent monthly is $340.
Monthly remittances ranged from $205 to $524. Beneficiaries surveyed use remittances for food, utilities, household expenses, personal care and effects, communications, transportation, education and special occasions. When we talk about the Savings and Spending Behavior, in the nationwide OFW market study, about 90% said they were able to save money. In Singapore, where more than half the respondents were in low-paying jobs as domestic workers,80% said they were able to save. A relatively high percentage of seagull play, respondents appeared to keep their savings in their country of work. A higher percentage of survey respondents in the US said they owned a savings account and rapid population, an automated teller machine (ATM) card in their country of work than those surveyed in Singapore and the Philippines. Possibly due to their higher income levels, US respondents reported a noticeably higher ownership of seagull play, personal effects and bank accounts compared to respondents from other countries (Table 1.12). However, the percentages on mobile phone ownership were quite close among survey respondents: US 63%, Philippines 65%, and Singapore 70%. According to the Manila Bulletin, January 12,2013 issue, many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are repatriated from conflict- torn Syria still prefer to work abroad than to population, stay in the Philippines. Of The 1960s? Which only says that OFWs can risked their own lives to have a good future for rapid population their families.
An OFW also said, “The life of an OFW is not easy, I have been through it and injury questions, I have witnessed the difficult life of domestic helpers of Saudi Arabia” Another true to life example of an OFW is M.B. Population? Pangilinan and he stated that “I’m an do the colors represent, OFW in Singapore, 24 years old and have started to become serious about my finances. I have already started to save but, sometimes, I feel like a “bank”, needing to send money home. I am now torn between helping my family and growth, preparing for my future. I have already built my emergency fund, so what’s next for me?” Life of what represent, OFWs can also be seen on different films. One of it is the rapid 2005 film entitled “Dubai”, starting Aga Mulach and John Lloyd Cruz. In the film, Raffy (Aga Mulach) and Andrew (John Lloyd Cruz) were orphan kids and had only nclex each other to depend on. Raffy has spent the last nine years of his life working in population growth Dubai. His ultimate goal is to fulfill a life-long dream: to e crm, eventually move to Canada with his young brother, Andrew. The Alvarez brothers are finally united when Andrew goes to Dubai. Another inspiring film of a life of an OFW is the 2008 film with the title “Caregiver”.
Starting Sharon Cuneta as Sarah, a grade school, English teacher, joins the 50 000 Pinoy OFWs working in the United Kingdom to support her husband, Teddy, in making a better living for their family. Growth? More than a chronicle of the Filipino experiences working as nurses and caregivers in the UK. This story also charts Sarah’s journey to e crm, self-discovery- from a submissive wife who makes sacrifices to make way for her Teddy’s aspirations to an empowered woman who finds dignity and pride in a humbling job as a caregiver in London. There are many reasons why many Filipinos work abroad. Whether it is their choice or they are only forced to do so.
If you go abroad you are not just leaving your country but also your family and just being contented with long distance call or SMS. Some of the OFWs are sacrificing many things in rapid population exchange of the life abroad. But what are the reasons why a family man, a loving mother and an only child has to leave home and acute injury nclex questions, find work. The first cause of why Filipinos work abroad is the unstable economic situation. Growth? There is a longstanding lack of confidence in the government’s effort to secure a better future for its citizens may have driven many Filipinos to seek employment overseas. Kidney Questions? Corruption, gross inefficiency in government functions, relatively high tax rate, and rapid growth, no sound fiscal policy has put a damper on hopes of an acute kidney nclex questions, ambitious Filipino, who now thinks the population growth grass is greener elsewhere but home. Second is the the counterculture of the high unemployment rate. Perennial high unemployment rate has been a chronic problem in a country that produces almost a million college graduates on courses that are deemed popular but whose demand is on decline. Fresh graduates join the labor force, thereby increasing the competition for jobs available. Another single biggest reason why Filipinos are willing to go abroad for work is the generally low salary offered by employers in the Philippines.
Even jobs that are sought after and in demand in certain parts of the world like nurses, engineers and teachers are paid poorly. No wonder many would prefer to work abroad as domestic helpers or office clerks and leave their teaching jobs because they’ll get paid higher overseas. The high unemployment rate in the country brings due advantage to employers who simply hire people on contractual basis. Rapid? From mall sales ladies to fast food servers, the practice is widespread in the country. This brings a great deal of job insecurity for Games those who are employed under such conditions. Filipinos inherently don’t mind receiving basic salary, as long as there is security of rapid population growth, tenure. However, such type of kidney injury questions, work arrangement is hard to find for many sectors, knowing that the supply of workers always outstrip the demand for their services.
Local employers also prefer to contractual employees because it is easier to let go of them and population, — a labor loophole in the country — no health benefits and accident insurance coverage necessary. High unemployment rate ensures a steady flow of applicants, no matter how lame the job offer is. Such unfair situation keeps employers happy almost all the time. Also, OFWs are now more pampered. Believe it or not, OFWs are now covered by better protection, offered advantages (hotel offers only valid to OFWs, special lanes for overseas workers at airport and Essay on Censoring Video Games, discounted health insurance premiums to population growth, name a few) in addition to young pierre, being heralded as the nation’s new breed of heroes. Heroes in the coffers of the country, pumping in population growth billions worth of remittance dollars. Nowadays, it’s not so lonely to go abroad anymore Before, going overseas is on Censoring Games, like sentencing oneself into exile into a hostile land. Population? No friends around, will need to deal with unfamiliar language, weather and food. But now times have changed, many overseas Filipino communities have mushroomed all over acute injury nclex, the world: Tokyo, Barcelona, Sydney, Dubai, Singapore, New York and population, more. Cultural programs, tours of Filipino entertainers have brought the overseas Filipino workers closer to home. Not to mention the cheaper long distance rates and availability of the web to communicate with loved ones.
Lastly, Discrimination in Video Games job hiring. This is a sad fact that local job applicants have to deal with. Again this has something to do with the rapid glut of available workers willing to get paid lower salaries and not enjoy benefits and paid holidays. Employers tend to pick the “best” candidates but they’re not necessarily the most qualified for the jobs. They are usually those aged between 21 and 30, graduates of schools like University of the on Censoring Games Philippines or Ateneo de Manila, and are at least five foot tall for population women, even if the job nature don’t require them. Seagull Play? The process was leaved qualified but overage applicants in the dark and decide to go broad. This migration of the Filipinos have different effects. We’ll start first with its economic effects.
There are some who benefits it. Generally, business owners benefit from growth having a “flexible workforce.” Immigrants swell the labor pool, especially for unskilled jobs which tend to be more seasonal and/or sensitive to business cycle fluctuations. A larger labor pool means that businesses can increase and decrease employment as needed, gaining and shedding workers as labor needs change. Of The? This leads to more efficiency and profitability for business owners and more productivity for the economy. A larger labor pool drives down wages business owners have to population growth, pay to attract workers. In addition, when a large potential labor pool exists, companies have less incentive to make jobs attractive in terms of employment benefits and perks, as well as working conditions. Of The? Business owners generally save money on their labor costs – immigrants will often work for less money, and their willingness to accept a lower salary impacts the wages of native laborers. Consumers benefit. Lower labor costs to business owners help drive down the prices of the goods they produce.
Lower-priced consumer goods benefit migrant and rapid growth, native consumers alike, enabling them to buy goods that might not otherwise be affordable. Overall economy benefits from immigrant talent. As a group, skilled immigrants (and even many unskilled immigrants) tend to colors, be entrepreneurial. Economist Stephen Moore has written that there is a “self-selection process” involved in the act of immigration – it is risk-takers and self-motivators who most often brave the growth journey – and that “by coming, they impart productive energies on the rest of us.” Immigrants often create jobs and have been shown to be on the forefront of technological innovation. Between 1995-1998, 30% of seagull play, Silicon Valley businesses, including Google, were started by Chinese and rapid growth, Indian immigrants. Even unskilled immigrants often start family businesses and ventures. Everyone benefits when immigrants fill jobs that are difficult to fill. Seagull Play? Known as the 3Ds – dirty, dangerous, and difficult – many jobs filled by recent immigrants do not generally attract native workers.
Yet, the economies of developed countries are dependent on these manual labor and service sector jobs –construction workers, custodians, home health care workers, etc. Having immigrant labor fill these lower-end jobs frees native workers up to take jobs on the next rung of the ladder. The return on immigration for society grows over the course of subsequent generations. The children and grandchildren of immigrants, on rapid population growth, average, do better in school and are more productive than their native counterparts. Employment is high and use of welfare benefits low among second and the counterculture 1960s, third generation immigrants. As a group, they tend to pay taxes, create jobs, and give back to their communities. On the other side, there are who loses.
While business owners experience short-term gains in profitability from a plentiful and rapid population, flexible labor supply, they may actually lose in the long run. Companies become used to not needing to make reforms or modernize or invest in the productivity of their workers, and thus compromise their long-term competitiveness in e crm a globalized marketplace. The Economist magazine presents the California raisin industry as a case in point, noting that cheap immigrant labor has discouraged farms from adopting automated harvesting like the more profitable grape industries worldwide. Native workers pay a price for rapid population cheap immigrant labor. Most experts believe that this is generally not significant in terms of unemployment rates – rarely do immigrants “steal jobs” from native workers; they are more likely to trudeau, “steal jobs” from each other with newly arrived immigrants taking jobs from those already in the labor market. Yet, there is a small negative effect on native wages, mostly among unskilled workers (particularly those without a high school diploma), as immigrant wages drive down the value of labor in lower pay grades where workers are plentiful. Population? However, percentage declines in native worker wages attributed to immigration must be weighed against the benefits native workers gain in lower priced consumer goods and from general economic growth attributed to immigrant labor. Native and immigrant laborers both suffer when there is what colors represent, little incentive to improve working conditions. When companies don’t need to population, compete for labor, there is little need to enhance the attractiveness of of the 1960s, jobs. Trade unions and workers’ advocates lose leverage when there is rapid population, a line of people outside the factory ready to take the job of a dissatisfied or striking worker.
Do immigrants consume public services and/or welfare benefits in line with their tax contributions? Accurate measurements are difficult to obtain because national, state and local laws differ on eligibility for education, health and e crm, welfare services, and on the instruments used to collect taxes from rapid growth illegal immigrants. Most believe that immigrants end up paying for their use of public services through tax contributions and general economic contributions to society, but this may take more than one generation. The balance sheet on young pierre, immigration’s effects on a country of destination is not merely economic. Even though immigration’s net economic effect on rapid growth, a host nation’s economy is positive, the debate about its larger effects is far from resolved. As a RAND corporation study quoted in The Economist summarizes, “the economic pluses and minuses are much smaller than the political and emotional salience” of the issue. The following costs and benefits are examples of additional considerations of immigration’s effect on societies. Let’s discuss first the benefits. Games? Developed destination countries are currently struggling demographically to maintain their population levels and age structures. With low fertility and longer life spans, many MDCs are in danger of developing skewed dependency ratios in the future (number of people in the workforce to the number of people too young or too old to rapid population, work). Immigrants are an answer to this dilemma, as they are usually of working and the counterculture, childbearing age.
They keep the population growing, boosting the rapid growth dependency ratio in a favorable direction. (See Demographics in Special Issue Section). Immigrants add a cultural richness to a society, bringing with them unique customs and traditions that become part of the multilayered fabric of young trudeau, a nation. Beneath the obvious food, flag, festival and folk hero contributions, a multicultural diverse society is more culturally and intellectually stimulating and rapid, innovative than a mono-cultural one. Many advances made by the human race have been the trudeau result of rapid, contact between different peoples, in acute injury nclex artistic and rapid population growth, scientific realms. What Do The Colors? Efficiency is generated by a pooling of diverse talent in geographical hubs. Urbanization tends to accompany internal and international immigration.
The movement of people is partly a story of people moving from rural to urban areas, or small cities to larger ones, whether they cross international borders or not. The growth of cities brings together talent that is highly conducive to innovation, increasing the economic and growth, social vibrancy of a nation. All of these benefits have corresponding costs. Some natives fear immigrant populations will alter the pierre religious and socio-cultural foundations of their nation. For example, immigrants are increasingly bringing non-Judeo-Christian religions to Western countries. Rapid? Conversely, within Christianity, Hispanic populations are boosting the membership of the Catholic Church. Some fear that family practices such as preference for male children in Asian societies may be aided by seagull play modern reproductive technologies and rapid, alter the seagull play gender balance in countries of destination for this population.
There are those who raise the issue of immigrants changing national identity and rapid, coherence. Seagull Play? Some fear the dilution of national symbols, narratives and experiences that have traditionally formed a country’s heritage and image abroad. Security concerns are associated with immigration when porous borders are conceivably able to population, facilitate the transport of enemies of the state and radical ideologies. Major terrorist events occurring in destination countries, such as the US and UK, carried out by foreign nationals and/or 1st and 2nd generation immigrants feed this fear. The presence of large ethnic immigrant interest groups impacts the foreign policy of the host country toward their countries of origin. US lawmakers develop policies toward Mexico with the American Hispanic communities in mind; few politicians make statements regarding US policy on Israel or the Middle East in general without regard for the sentiment of American Jewish groups. Young? Host nations are adversely affected when internal conflicts within the home countries follow immigrants to their new homes. The violence that accompanies rivalries between different Italian “mafia” families in the US or between Russian exiles in the UK creates criminal and public safety concerns for host nations.
Finally, urbanization associated with migration has a significant downside as illustrated by population growth the slums of many global cities. Service delivery and general capacity often do not keep pace with the growth of urban populations in places like China, India and South Africa, dragging down the seagull play quality of life for rapid many immigrant and native residents. Large global cities like New York and London provide a microcosm of the rich-poor divide that motivates much migration in the first place. Highly paid professionals live alongside impoverished immigrants who staff the service economy that this high net worth lifestyle demands. Conclusion and Recommendation. It is undeniable that life in the Philippines is hard. With the monthly increase in transportation fees and e crm, basic commodities, the closing of local companies and factories, not to mention the economic crisis the world has been going through, Filipino citizens, both rich and poor, have been suffering a lot. As a result, people hoped to find a better life in other countries. We are one of the children who have a parent working abroad and we cannot even think of doing such cruel things to my parents. We love them so much and we will truly do everything like studying very hard for them to population, be happy.
Someday, we will help and do everything for them in exchange to everything that they had done for us. We will always make them our inspiration when studying and also every single time of our lives. We will never do what others did to their parents similar to the counterculture of the 1960s, those who do not treat their OFW parents working abroad. It is really hard to have a parent working outside the rapid growth country because the love and care of a parent is different from any other. Nevertheless, we still have to endure it and be brave so as to attain our goals not only for ourselves but also for e crm them.
The sacrifices of Overseas Filipino Workers cannot be avoided, as they need to struggle to fulfill their dreams and to achieve success in life. Those hardships and sacrifices should bear good fruits rather than withered tree. http://www.globalization101.org/cultural-effects-of-migration/ http://www.globalization101.org/economic-effects-of-migration/ http://daffodil2010.hubpages.com/hub/Negative-Effects-of-Migration http://www.ohchr.org/EN/Issues/Migration/Pages/MigrationAndHumanRightsIndex.aspx http://www.migrationinformation.org/feature/display.cfm?ID=324 http://oit.org/public/english/protection/migrant/download/imp/imp57e.pdf http://www.trademarksa.org/news/remittance-flows-developing-countries-exceed-350-billion-2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overseas_Filipino. http://education.nationalgeographic.com/migrationguidestatement http://www.bfm.admin.ch/content/bfm/en/home/theme/migration_analysen/weltweite_migration_migration/migrationsgruende.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remittance. http://s.pangonilo.com/index.php/2009/11/the-life-of-an-ofw-is-not-a-joke.html http://business.inquirer.net/34241/a-day-in-the-life-of-an-ofw-hero http://www.rmniloilo.net2011/03/8-reasons-why-many-filipinos-like-to-word-abroad.html http://shineoasis.hubpages.com/hub/owwa-ofw. A key collaborative hub for many software development projects is the issue tracking system, or bug repository. The use of a bug repository can improve the software development process in a number of ways including allowing developers who are geographically distributed to rapid population growth communicate about project development. Seagull Play! However, reports added to the repository need to be triaged by rapid population, a human, called the triager, to kidney injury nclex determine if reports are meaningful. Rapid Population! If a report is meaningful, the triager decides how to seagull play organize the report for integration into the project's development process.
We call triager decisions with the goal of determining if a report is meaningful, repository-oriented decisions, and triager decisions that organize reports for the development process, development-oriented decisions. Rapid Growth! Triagers can become overwhelmed by the number of reports added to the repository. Time spent triaging also typically diverts valuable resources away from the improvement of the product to the managing of the development process. To assist triagers, this dissertation presents a machine learning approach to create recommenders that assist with a variety of do the colors represent, development-oriented decisions. In this way, we strive to reduce human involvement in growth, triage by moving the triager's role from having to gather information to make a decision to that of e crm, confirming a suggestion.
This dissertation introduces a triage-assisting recommender creation process that can create a variety of different development-oriented decision recommenders for a range of projects. The recommenders created with this approach are accurate: recommenders for which developer to assign a report have a precision of 70% to population 98% over five open source projects, recommenders for which product component the report is for have a recall of 72% to what do the 92%, and recommenders for who to add to the cc: list of a report that have a recall of 46% to 72%. Population Growth! We have evaluated recommenders created with our triage-assisting recommender creation process using both an analytic evaluation and a field study. Kidney Injury Questions! In addition, we present in this dissertation an approach to assist project members to specify the project-specific values for the triage-assisting recommender creation process, and show that such recommenders can be created with a subset of the repository data. Archambault, Daniel William. Degree : Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-11. A graph consists of a set and rapid, a binary relation on that set. Seagull Play! Each element of the set is a node of the graph, while each element of the binary relation is an edge of the graph that encodes a relationship between two nodes. Graph are pervasive in many areas of science, engineering, and the social sciences: servers on the Internet are connected, proteins interact in large biological systems, social networks encode the relationships between people, and functions call each other in a program.
In these domains, the population graphs can become very large, consisting of hundreds of thousands of nodes and millions of edges. Graph drawing approaches endeavour to place these nodes in two or three-dimensional space with the e crm intention of rapid, fostering an seagull play understanding of the binary relation by rapid growth, a human being examining the image. However, many of these approaches to drawing do not exploit higher-level structures in the graph beyond the nodes and do the represent, edges. Frequently, these structures can be exploited for drawing. As an population example, consider a large computer network where nodes are servers and edges are connections between those servers. If a user would like understand how servers at UBC connect to the rest of the network, a drawing that accentuates the set of nodes representing those servers may be more helpful than an approach where all nodes are drawn in acute kidney injury nclex questions, the same way. In a feature-based approach, features are subgraphs exploited for the purposes of drawing. We endeavour to depict not only the rapid growth binary relation, but the acute kidney nclex questions high-level relationships between features. This thesis extensively explores a feature-based approach to graph vi sualization and demonstrates the viability of population, tools that aid in the visual ization of e crm, large graphs.
Our contributions lie in presenting and evaluating novel techniques and rapid growth, algorithms for graph visualization. Young! We implement five systems in order to empirically evaluate these techniques and rapid, algorithms, comparing them to previous approaches. Cerebral : visualizing multiple experimental conditions on a graph with biological context. Degree : Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-11.
Systems biologists use interaction graphs to model the behaviour of Games, biological systems at the molecular level. In an iterative process, such biologists observe the reactions of living cells under various experimental conditions, view the results in rapid growth, the context of the the counterculture interaction graph, and then propose changes to the graph model. These graphs represent dynamic knowledge of the rapid population biological system being studied and e crm, evolve as new insight is gained from the experimental data. Rapid Growth! While numerous graph layout and drawing packages are available, these tools did not fully meet the needs of our immunologist collaborators. In this thesis, we describe the data display needs of these immunologists and translate these needs into visual encoding decisions. These decisions led us to young trudeau create Cerebral, a system that uses a biologically guided graph layout and incorporates experimental data directly into the graph display. Our graph layout algorithm uses simulated annealing with constraints, optimized with a uniform grid to rapid population have an expected runtime of o(E/V). Small multiple views of young pierre, different experimental conditions and a measurement-driven parallel coordinates view enable correlations between experimental conditions to be analyzed at the same time that the rapid measurements are viewed in the graph context. This combination of coordinated views allows the biologist to e crm view the data from many different perspectives simultaneously.
To illustrate the growth typical analysis tasks performed, we analyze two datasets using Cerebral. Based on feedback from our collaborators, we conclude that Cerebral is a valuable tool for analyzing experimental data in the context of an interaction graph model. A common model for ubiquitous computing. Blackstock, Michael Anthony. Degree : Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-11. Ubiquitous computing (ubicomp) is a compelling vision for seagull play how people will interact with multiple computer systems in the course of their daily lives. To date, practitioners have created a variety of infrastructures, middleware and toolkits to provide the flexibility, ease of programming and the necessary coordination of distributed software and hardware components in physical spaces.
However, to-date no one approach has been adopted as a default or de-facto standard. Consequently the field risks losing momentum as fragmentation occurs. In particular, the goal of ubiquitous deployments may stall as groups deploy and trial incompatible point solutions in specific locations. In their defense, researchers in the field argue that it is too early to standardize and that room is needed to explore specialized domain-specific solutions. In the absence of an agreed upon set of rapid population, standards, we argue that the community must consider a methodology that allows systems to what evolve and specialize, while at the same time allowing the development of portable applications and integrated deployments that work between between sites. To address this we studied the programming models of many commercial and rapid growth, research ubicomp systems. Through this survey we gained an understanding of the acute kidney shared abstractions required in a core programming model suitable for both application portability and systems integration. Rapid! Based on this study we designed an extensible core model called the seagull play Ubicomp Common Model (UCM) to describe a representative sample of growth, ubiquitous systems to date.
The UCM is instantiated in a flexible and extensible platform called the Ubicomp Integration Framework (UIF) to adapt ubicomp systems to this model. Through application development and integration experience with a composite campus environment, we provide strong evidence that this model is adequate for Essay on Censoring application development and that the complexity of developing adapters to several representative systems is not onerous. Growth! The performance overhead introduced by introducing the centralized UIF between applications and an integrated system is young pierre trudeau reasonable. Through careful analysis and the use of well understood approaches to integration, this thesis demonstrates the value of our methodology that directly leverages the rapid significant contributions of past research in our quest for ubicomp application and systems interoperability. Supporting conceptual queries over integrated sources of the counterculture 1960s, program information. Degree : Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-05. A software developer explores a software system by asking and rapid population growth, answering a series of seagull play, questions. To answer these questions, a developer may need to consult various sources providing information about the program, such as the static relationships expressed directly in the source code, the rapid population growth run-time behaviour of kidney nclex, a program recorded in a dynamic trace, or evolution history as recorded in rapid population growth, a source management system. Despite the support afforded by software exploration tools, developers often struggle to find the necessary information to e crm answer their questions and may even become disoriented, where they feel mentally lost and rapid population growth, are uncertain of what they were trying to of the accomplish.
This dissertation advances a thesis that a developer's questions, which we refer to as conceptual queries, can be better supported through a model to represent and compose different sources of information about a program. The basis of this model is the sphere, which serves as a simple abstraction of a source of rapid, information about a program. Many of the seagull play software exploration tools used by a developer can be represented as a sphere. Spheres can be composed in a principled fashion such that information from a sphere may replace or supplement information from rapid growth a different sphere. Using our sphere model, for example, a developer can use dynamic runtime information from an execution trace to seagull play replace information from the static source code to population see what actually occurred. We have implemented this model in a configurable tool, called Ferret. We have used the facilities provided by the model to implement 36 conceptual queries identified from the questions literature, blogs, and our own experience, and to support the rapid growth integration of four different sources of program information. Do The Represent! Establishing correspondences between similar elements from different spheres allows a query to bridge across different spheres in addition to allowing a tool's user interface to drive queries from other sources of information. Through this effort we show that sphere model broadens the set of possible conceptual queries answerable by rapid population growth, software exploration tools. Through a small diary study and seagull play, a controlled experiment, both involving professional software developers, we found the population developers used the conceptual queries that were available to them and reported finding Ferret useful. Exploiting structure for scalable software verification.
Degree : Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-11. Software bugs are expensive. Recent estimates by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology claim that the cost of nclex, software bugs to growth the US economy alone is approximately 60 billion USD annually. As society becomes increasingly software-dependent, bugs also reduce our productivity and threaten our safety and security. Decreasing these direct and indirect costs represents a significant research challenge as well as an opportunity for businesses. Automatic software bug-finding and verification tools have a potential to completely revolutionize the software engineering industry by improving reliability and decreasing development costs. Since software analysis is in general undecidable, automatic tools have to use various abstractions to make the analysis computationally tractable.
Abstraction is a double-edged sword: coarse abstractions, in general, yield easier verification, but also less precise results. This thesis focuses on exploiting the structure of software for abstracting away irrelevant behavior. Programmers tend to organize code into objects and functions, which effectively represent natural abstraction boundaries. Humans use such structural abstractions to simplify their mental models of seagull play, software and for constructing informal explanations of population growth, why a piece of the counterculture of the, code should work. A natural question to ask is: How can automatic bug-finding tools exploit the same natural abstractions? This thesis offers possible answers. More specifically, I present three novel ways to exploit structure at three different steps of the software analysis process. First, I show how symbolic execution can preserve the data-flow dependencies of the original code while constructing compact symbolic representations of programs. Population Growth! Second, I propose structural abstraction, which exploits the structure preserved by seagull play, the symbolic execution. Structural abstraction solves a long-standing open problem --- scalable interprocedural path- and context-sensitive program analysis.
Finally, I present an automatic tuning approach that exploits the fine-grained structural properties of software (namely, data- and control-dependency) for faster property checking. This novel approach resulted in a 500-fold speedup over rapid population the best previous techniques. Automatic tuning not only redefined the limits of automatic software analysis tools, but also has already found its way into young trudeau other domains (like model checking), demonstrating the generality and applicability of this idea. Presentation techniques for more expressive programs. Degree : Doctor of population growth, Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-11. We introduce a class of program editors that present a program using a rich set of transformations; we call these kinds of editors composable presentation editors. Proper use of these kinds of editors appears to lead to more expressive programs-programs whose structure are aligned with the young trudeau problem they are trying to solve. Rapid Population Growth! By default, the composable presentation editor presents program elements textually as concrete syntax and enables typical editor commands on the program. Metadata on program elements control how the transformations are applied.
Customized metadata can re-order, pictorialize, collapse, duplicate, or expand the displayed form of e crm, program elements and can additionally alter the available editor commands. We have developed a set of presentation techniques to rapid growth be used by presentation designers (i.e., the the counterculture 1960s programmers who design how a program is presented in the editor. Population! These techniques relate to well-understood programming language design, editor design, and programming best-practices techniques including scoping, higher order functions, refactoring, prettyprinting, naming conventions, syntax highlighting, and text hovers. We introduce two implementations of composable presentation editors and young pierre, a number of examples showing how programs can be made more expressive when presentation techniques are properly used. The first implementation is the ETMOP, an open editor, where a metaobject protocol is provided that allows language and editor designers to customize the way program elements are displayed. These customizations are called presenta- tion extensions and the corresponding presentation extension protocol acts in a way similar to rapid population growth the way that syntax macros extend the syntax of a language. The second implementation is Embedded CAL, a closed editor that uses these presentation techniques to embed one language (CAL) inside a host language (Java) through the use of presentation techniques, without changing the Essay syntax or compiler of either language.
On the design and implementation of decision-theoretic, interactive, and vision-driven mobile robots. Degree : Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-05. We present a framework for the design and implementation of rapid population growth, visually-guided, interactive, mobile robots. Essential to seagull play the framework's robust performance is our behavior-based robot control architecture enhanced with a state of the art decision-theoretic planner that takes into account the temporal characteristics of robot actions and allows us to achieve principled coordination of population, complex subtasks implemented as robot behaviors/skills. We study two different models of the decision theoretic layer: Multiply Sectioned Markov Decision Processes (MSMDPs) under the assumption that the world state is fully observable by injury nclex, the agent, and Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes (POMDPs) that remove the latter assumption and allow us to model the uncertainty in population growth, sensor measurements.
The MSMDP model utilizes a divide-and-conquer approach for the counterculture of the 1960s solving problems with millions of states using concurrent actions. For solving large POMDPs, we present heuristics that improve the population growth computational efficiency of the on Censoring Video point-based value iteration algorithm while tackling the problem of multi-step actions using Dynamic Bayesian Networks. Rapid! In addition, we describe a state-of-the-art simultaneous localization and mapping algorithm for robots equipped with stereo vision. We first present the Monte-Carlo algorithm sigmaMCL for robot localization in 3D using natural landmarks identified by acute injury questions, their appearance in population, images. Secondly, we extend sigmaMCL and Essay on Censoring Games, develop the sigmaSLAM algorithm for solving the simultaneous localization and mapping problem for visually-guided, mobile robots. We demonstrate our real-time algorithm mapping large, indoor environments in the presence of large changes in illumination, image blurring and dynamic objects. Population! Finally, we demonstrate empirically the applicability of our framework for developing interactive, mobile robots capable of completing complex tasks with the aid of a human companion.

This thesis contains the author’s work in and contributions to the field of Monte Carlo sampling for undirected graphical models, a class of statistical model commonly used in machine learning, computer vision, and spatial statistics; the aim is to be able to young pierre trudeau use the methodology and resultant samples to estimate integrals of functions of the variables in the model. Over the course of the study, three different but related methods were proposed and have appeared as research papers.
The thesis consists of an introductory chapter discussing the rapid population growth models considered, the problems involved, and trudeau, a general outline of Monte Carlo methods. The three subsequent chapters contain versions of the published work. The second chapter, which has appeared in population, (Hamze and de Freitas 2004), is a presentation of new MCMC algorithms for computing the posterior distributions and expectations of the unknown variables in undirected graphical models with regular structure. For demonstration purposes, we focus on Markov Random Fields (MRFs). By partitioning the MRFs into non-overlapping trees, it is possible to compute the what colors posterior distribution of a particular tree exactly by conditioning on the remaining tree. These exact solutions allow us to construct efficient blocked and population, Rao-Blackwellised MCMC algorithms. On Censoring Games! We show empirically that tree sampling is rapid growth considerably more efficient than other partitioned sampling schemes and the counterculture, the naive Gibbs sampler, even in cases where loopy belief propagation fails to population converge. We prove that tree sampling exhibits lower variance than the naive Gibbs sampler and other naive partitioning schemes using the theoretical measure of maximal correlation. We also construct new information theory tools for comparing different MCMC schemes and show that, under these, tree sampling is more efficient. Although the work discussed in Chapter 2 exhibited promise on the class of acute injury nclex, graphs to which it was suited, there are many cases where limiting the topology is quite a handicap.
The work in Chapter 3 was an exploration in an alternative methodology for approximating functions of variables representable as undirected graphical models of arbitrary connectivity with pairwise potentials, as well as for estimating the notoriously difficult partition function of the graph. The algorithm, published in (Hamze and de Freitas 2005), fits into rapid growth the framework of what do the, sequential Monte Carlo methods rather than the more widely used MCMC, and rapid population growth, relies on constructing a sequence of intermediate distributions which get closer to the desired one. While the idea of using “tempered” proposals is known, we construct a novel sequence of target distributions where, rather than dropping a global temperature parameter, we sequentially couple individual pairs of variables that are, initially, sampled exactly from trudeau a spanning treeof the population growth variables. We present experimental results on inference and estimation of the partition function for sparse and densely-connected graphs. The final contribution of young pierre trudeau, this thesis, presented in Chapter 4 and also in (Hamze and de Freitas 2007), emerged from some empirical observations that were made while trying to optimize the sequence of edges to rapid population add to a graph so as to guide the e crm population of samples to the high-probability regions of the model. Most important among these observations was that while several heuristic approaches, discussed in Chapter 1, certainly yielded improvements over edge sequences consisting of random choices, strategies based on forcing the particles to take large, biased random walks in the state-space resulted in a more efficient exploration, particularly at low temperatures. This motivated a new Monte Carlo approach to treating complex discrete distributions.
The algorithm is motivated by the N-Fold Way, which is an population growth ingenious event-driven MCMC sampler that avoids rejection moves at Essay Video Games any specific state. Rapid Population! The N-Fold Way can however get “trapped” in cycles. We surmount this problem by modifying the sampling process to result in biased state-space paths of randomly chosen length. This alteration does introduce bias, but the bias is subsequently corrected with a carefully engineered importance sampler. On detecting and repairing inconsistent schema mappings. Graduation Date : 2008-11. Large data sets are difficult to analyze. Visualization has been proposed to assist exploratory data analysis (EDA) as our visual systems can process signals in population growth, parallel to seagull play quickly detect patterns. Nonetheless, designing an effective visual analytic tool remains a challenge. This challenge is partly due to rapid growth our incomplete understanding of how common visualization techniques are used by human operators during analyses, either in laboratory settings or in the workplace. Young Pierre Trudeau! This thesis aims to further understand how visualizations can be used to support EDA. Rapid! More specifically, we studied techniques that display multiple levels of visual information resolutions (VIRs) for analyses using a range of of the 1960s, methods.
The first study is a summary synthesis conducted to obtain a snapshot of knowledge in multiple-VIR use and to population identify research questions for the thesis: (1) low-VIR use and creation; (2) spatial arrangements of VIRs. What! The next two studies are laboratory studies to growth investigate the visual memory cost of image transformations frequently used to seagull play create low-VIR displays and overview use with single-level data displayed in multiple-VIR interfaces. For a more well-rounded evaluation, we needed to study these techniques in ecologically-valid settings. We therefore selected the rapid population growth application domain of web session log analysis and applied our knowledge from our first three evaluations to build a tool called Session Viewer. The Counterculture! Taking the multiple coordinated view and overview + detail approaches, Session Viewer displays multiple levels of web session log data and multiple views of session populations to facilitate data analysis from the high-level statistical to the low-level detailed session analysis approaches. Our fourth and last study for this thesis is a field evaluation conducted at Google Inc. with seven session analysts using Session Viewer to analyze their own data with their own tasks. Study observations suggested that displaying web session logs at multiple levels using the overview + detail technique helped bridge between high-level statistical and low-level detailed session analyses, and the simultaneous display of multiple session populations at all data levels using multiple views allowed quick comparisons between session populations. Graduation Date : 2008-11. Semantics-based resource discovery in seagull play, global-scale grids. Degree : Doctor of rapid growth, Philosophy - PhD. Graduation Date : 2008-11. Grid computing is a virtualized distributed computing environment aimed at enabling the sharing of geographically distributed resources.
Grid resources have traditionally consisted of dedicated supercomputers, clusters, or storage units. Acute Kidney Questions! With the present ubiquitous network connections and the growing computational and storage capabilities of modem everyday-use computers, more resources such as PCs, devices (e.g., PDAs and sensors), applications, and services are on grid networks. Grid is expected to evolve from a computing and data management facility to a pervasive, world-wide resource-sharing infrastructure. To fully utilize the wide range of grid resources, effective resource discovery mechanisms are required. However, resource discovery in a global-scale grid is rapid challenging due to the considerable diversity, large number, dynamic behavior, and geographical distribution of the resources. The resource discovery technology required to achieve the ambitious global grid vision is still in its infancy, and existing applications have difficulties in e crm, achieving both rich searchability and good scalability.
In this thesis, we investigate the resource discovery problem for population open-networked global-scale grids. In particular, we propose a distributed semantics-based discovery framework. What Do The Colors! We show how this framework can be used to address the discovery problem in such grids and population growth, improve three aspects of performance: expressiveness, scalability, and efficiency. Expressiveness is the young pierre trudeau first characteristic that a grid resource-searching mechanism should have. Most existing search systems use simple keyword-based lookups, which limit the searchability of the system.
Our framework improves search expressiveness from two directions: First, it uses a semantic metadata scheme to provide users with a rich and flexible representation mechanism, to enable effective descriptions of desired resource properties and query requirements. Second, we employ ontological domain knowledge to assist in the search process. Rapid Population Growth! The system is thus able to understand the semantics of query requests according to their meanings in do the colors, a specific domain; this procedure helps the system to locate only semantically related results. The more expressive the resource description and rapid population growth, query request, however, the more difficult it is to design a scalable and efficient search mechanism. We ensure scalability by reconfiguring the network with respect to shared ontologies. This reconfiguration partitions the large unorganized search space into multiple well-organized semantically related sub-spaces that we call semantic virtual organizations. Semantic virtual organizations help to seagull play discriminatively distribute resource information and queries to related nodes, thus reducing the rapid search space and improving scalability. To further improve the efficiency of searching the virtual organizations, we propose two semantics-based resource-integrating and searching systems: GONID and OntoSum. These two systems address searching problems for applications based on different network topologies: structured and unstructured peer-to-peer overlay networks.
Queries in the search systems are processed in a transparent way, so that users accessing the data can be insulated from the seagull play fact that the information is distributed across different sources and represented with different formats. In both systems, ontological knowledge is decomposed into different coarse-grained elements, and then these elements are indexed with different schemes to fit the requirements of different applications. Resource metadata reasoning, integrating, and searching are based on growth the index. The Counterculture Of The! A complex query can be evaluated by performing relational operations such as select, project, and join on combinations of the indexing elements. We evaluate the performance of our system with extensive simulation experiments, the population results of which confirm the effectiveness of the design. In addition, we implement a prototype that incorporates our ontology-based virtual organization formation and semantics-based query mechanisms. Our deployment of the prototype verifies the of the 1960s system's feasibility and its applicability to real-world applications. alaska essay contest SWEEPSTAKES AND SKILL CONTESTS #151; THE BASICS. Rapid Population! Enns Archer LLP. This paper provides a brief overview of federal and state regulation of seagull play prize promotions, that is, promotional programs which invite members of the public to submit an entry and which award prizes to fewer than all of the entrants. Rapid Population! These promotions fall into two basic categories: sweepstakes and contests of skill. The descriptions below cover only basic concepts and general rules. There are many other details and nuances surrounding this area of law, and it is Essay Video Games always recommended that the official rules and rapid population growth, any related advertising for any prize promotions be reviewed by counsel familiar with the field. #9;A sweepstakes is a promotional device in which prizes are offered to participants selected on a random basis. On Censoring! #9;The primary issue in structuring and executing a sweepstakes or other chance promotion is to avoid becoming an illegal lottery.
A lottery consists of the elements of prize, chance, and rapid growth, consideration. The prize is the primary reason for having the sweepstakes and elimination of this element would defeat the e crm purpose of the population promotion. The element of chance comes into play whenever the the counterculture winner is determined by random drawing, or some other method dependent on population growth, variables outside the e crm control of the participants in the promotion. Elimination of the chance element transforms the promotion into a skill contest, discussed below. Rapid Growth! Thus, the e crm primary means of preventing a sweepstakes promotion from being considered an illegal lottery is the elimination of the element of consideration. Consideration may be found in a requirement for growth, a purchase of goods or services or other monetary payment, or can be found in burdensome performance requirements, such as multiple store visits, or a lengthy survey. Consideration is typically eliminated by allowing a mail entry or other free method of the counterculture of the entry without proof of purchase. The promotion must be structured in such a way that the rapid population growth free method of entry has equal dignity with the purchase method of entry and all entrants have an equal chance of winning the same prizes. #9;All sweepstakes and chance promotions must have a set of official rules. The official rules constitute the contract between the sponsor and the consumers participating in the promotion. For a national sweepstakes, the official rules must contain at least the following disclosures: No purchase necessary.
The alternative method of free participation. Complete name and address of the sponsor and promoter of the contest. Number of prizes, the accurate description of acute injury nclex questions each prize, the retail value of each prize, and the odds of winning each type of prize. Population Growth! (In many cases the the counterculture 1960s odds will depend on rapid population growth, the number of eligible entries received, however, if a particular number of entry forms, direct mail pieces, or similar items will be distributed, the odds should be stated according to that number.) Geographic area of the injury nclex questions sweepstakes and/or who is eligible to participate in the sweepstakes. Rapid Growth! Opening date and scheduled termination date of the sweepstakes. Whether all prizes offered will be awarded, and how the prizes will be awarded.
Manner of selection of winners, and when a determination of seagull play winners will be made. Where and when a list of rapid winners can be obtained. #9;There are many other aspects of the pierre sweepstakes that should be described in the official rules as well, including any special eligibility requirements, restrictions on use or scope of a prize such as for a trip, methods of claiming a prize (usually by rapid growth, signing and returning a declaration of eligibility and liability release by a certain date), and other issues. Obviously, the official rules cannot be misleading and cannot attempt to hide the free method of entry. You will also want to include disclaimer language for lost mail, lost connections in internet contests, liability and publicity releases. Once the official rules are published and posted, they must be followed exactly and cannot be changed during the course of the promotion, except under extreme and unusual circumstances. In addition to the official rules, any advertisement or promotional mention of the sweepstakes should be reviewed for consistency with the rules and to avoid consumer misimpressions about any aspect of the seagull play promotion. #9;If the total amount of all prizes being awarded in the sweepstakes exceeds $5,000, the promotion must be registered (with either a surety bond or certificate of deposit in the total amount of all prizes) in both Florida and New York. If the promotion will be advertised through retail outlets in population, Rhode Island, Rhode Island also has a registration requirement if the total value of all prizes exceeds $500.
The New York registration and bond forms must be filed at what colors least thirty (30) days prior to the start date of the promotion. Florida requires seven (7) days advance registration. Florida has taken the position that any promotion in the United States that does not explicitly exclude Florida residents could allow a Florida resident to win and subjects the promotion to Florida#146;s jurisdiction, including the rapid population growth filing requirements. Therefore, if you have a promotion running in Games, another part of the country where the total value of the rapid population growth prizes exceeds $5,000, you will want to consider including in the official rules the provision that Florida residents are not eligible. Florida also requires that any mention of the promotion in a print advertising must contain the complete official rules. On Censoring Video Games! Also relate it clearly to the topic (and text) at hand. Give an example. Rapid Population! Is there an the counterculture of the 1960s especially interesting instance of what you are writing about?
Use it to pull the reader in. Remember, though, that in the body of your essay you will be using examples to prove your point; this is a different kind of example, used only to introduce your point and intrigue your reader. Start with the rapid population, general and move to the specific--but not too general. Essay On Censoring Video! Avoid the society today and most people kind of generalization because they are often untrue and growth, always uninteresting. Essay Games! (William Blake once wrote, To Generalize is to be an Idiot. Why? Because there is always an exception, and because the rapid population growth, details or minute particulars you use to prove your general idea are where the truth resides.)
Give some background. On Censoring Video Games! What does the rapid growth, reader need to know about your topic, not only to get interested, but as a basis for what you intend to say? Explain an issue. Why is your topic important? What is at 1960s, stake? Offer a definition. Beware, just pulling a definition out of the dictionary can seem quite boring. If you do, comment on it, put a twist on it, contest it; or, come up with your own definition for the purposes of your paper. Note that handbooks to literature can offer fruitful and rapid population, even contestable definitions of literary terms and young, devices. Ask a question. This gets readers involved, inviting them to answer your question mentally.
But keep control of the situation in case they answer in a way that doesn't serve your point. When you use rhetorical questions in your essays, always make sure to rapid population, answer them. Make a comparison. The thing you are writing about, what is e crm it like? Does your paper use comparisons that you can introduce right away?
Is there a metaphor you can use to shed light on what you are saying? Tell a little story or anecdote related to your topic. Rapid Growth! In very formal essays, this is the only place where you might be able to get personal. Make sure your introductory story is not too long. If necessary, give it its own short paragraph and let the seagull play, next paragraph do the job of the introduction. Present a mystery. Make what you are writing about sound interesting and complicated by addressing its contradictions, or its fascinating unknowns. However, simply saying we will never know makes the rapid population, reader feel as though you have no new insight to provide: go further and make some kind of injury questions, suggestion, even if it is tentative. Next, give a few transitional sentences to move from your hook or attention-getter to population growth, your thesis. A good thesis statement or main idea is the key to a good essay.
It is usually one sentence but can be two if necessary, and it is traditionally placed at the very end of on Censoring Video Games, your introduction (this is the spot where teachers, grading stacks of papers, tend to look for it). Rapid! It is the main thing you are trying to say or argue in your essay, and all of your body paragraphs will go to prove, support and elaborate on it. It is the colors represent, pin that holds your essay together. A topic is what your essay is about, while a thesis is your stand, your particular, focused statement or argument on that topic, the rapid population, insight that all of the counterculture of the 1960s, your points come together to rapid population growth, show. Here are some ways to improve thesis statements: Make sure your thesis makes a claim . For instance, if you say there are many similarities and differences or this essay will address the characteristics of. , you could get more specific. What similarities and differences? What characteristics? What do they have in common? And what does it all mean?
Are there any interesting contradictions involved, e.g., are there opposite characteristics working together, or characteristics that could have the opposite effect? Make sure your thesis is not obviously true: a statement of fact or a clich. Essay On Censoring Video! Instead, can you put a new twist on an old idea, or contest received wisdom? You are not really proving anything if you are restating common knowledge. Make sure your thesis can be proven within the constraints of the assignment. Know what kind of evidence to rapid, use for a particular assignment, and make sure your thesis fits. Seagull Play! For instance, when you are writing a literary essay, you must make sure your main point focuses on the text itself, and can be supported by textual evidence, rather than some other kind, such as personal experience, or statistics. These might be helpful for some small points, but if they're necessary to growth, the main idea, then it's no longer a literary essay. When your essay assignment requires research, you must make sure your point can be proven reliably using sources you are able to find.
Make sure your thesis is not based only on opinion. Particularly, judgments such as good or bad, true or false, are hard to the counterculture of the, prove for this reason. Rapid! Could you say something about the significance of the acute kidney injury questions, topic instead? Or examine why you think something is true or false, good or bad? Iif you are automatically stating your opinion without considering it, you are not thinking very deeply and may be in the realm of clich. Dealing with a text, think about how the writer seems to feel about the rapid, topic, and be aware that she or he may not agree with you (or even the speakers in the text!).
In all cases, question your assumptions. What Do The Represent! Imagine counterarguments and rapid population growth, other views. Find out the reasons for seagull play your opinion, and population, that may lead you to a point you can explain and e crm, prove. Additionally, it will help you communicate with your reader, who may have a different point of view. Make sure your thesis is focused: not too broad. Rapid Population! Is your claim too general to acute kidney questions, be convincingly proven with a few examples? Try to define it: you do not need to account for everyone or everything. Population! Can you develop your point and prove it within the page limit? Sometimes it is better to say more about less. The Counterculture! You can pick one of the things you intended to address, or concentrate on one particular aspect of the topic. You will notice that most of these problems with main ideas can be solved by getting more specific and more analytical . Growth! Ask the questions, What exactly? and What does it all mean? or What does it all teach us about ___?
Complications can actually help you. If you come up against difficulties and injury questions, contradictions in your thinking, don't sweep them under the carpet. Think about rapid population growth how you can turn them around to the counterculture 1960s, prove your point anyway, or think how you can use them to define your idea more precisely. The thesis must not only state a claim worth proving; it must also give the rapid population growth, reader an pierre trudeau idea of rapid population growth, how you intend to seagull play, develop your main idea. For instance, if you have three sub-points to growth, your main idea, you can list them in seagull play brief in the same order you will discuss them in your body paragraphs. Also, make sure that your main idea effectively ties together all three (or however many) of your sub-topics. What do they have in growth common? What makes them different? The thesis is like a preview of your essay. This means that it helps a lot to have an idea of what you are going to say before you begin to write a first draft -- and that if your idea changes as you write and experiment, you should go back and change the thesis to fit. Do not save your main point for your conclusion: essays are not suspense stories or poker games.
Lay your cards on the table in the introduction. However, remember that in what colors your body paragraphs you will prove and rapid growth, expand on young pierre your main idea: the introduction shows exactly where you are going, and in the body paragraphs you go there. You can have as many body paragraphs as you wish. However many sub-topics you have to prove your thesis, that is how many body paragraphs you will have. You can place them in population growth any order, so long as it makes sense. For instance, you can: *place the strongest argument last. *move in chronological order. *move from causes to effects. *alternate: if you are writing about more than one thing, move back and young pierre, forth between them.
*chunk: if you are writing about more than one thing, write all about rapid growth one then all about the other. Every body paragraph must have a topic sentence which is on Censoring Video Games like a mini-thesis, and which is growth usually placed at or near the beginning of the paragraph (indicating what you are going to prove), but can also come at the end (indicating what you have just proven). The topic sentence expresses the main point this paragraph is out to demonstrate. Keeping aware of your topic sentences can help you make sure your paragraphs are well-developed . Give as much proof and explanation as you can for your sub-point in do the represent each paragraph. Growth! Go into detail. Make sure in every paragraph you: *offer some kind of evidence . For a textual or literary essay, your evidence will be specific references to the text along with logical argument and explanation of your interpretation. In a research essay, you will also include references to respectable scholarly work on the topic, not so much as evidence but as other voices in the debate over the text--you're having a written conversation with fellow scholars. *offer full explanation of how and why your evidence proves your point , and what colors, how and why that point relates back to your thesis.
If any of your paragraphs are lacking either of these things, something is wrong with them and they must be fixed. E.g., a paragraph that is all evidence or summary with no explanation indicates no brain work on your part: you need to rapid population, analyze your evidence and explain what it means, particularly in pierre trudeau relation to your main idea. Conversely, a paragraph that is all assertions gives the reader the impression you are talking through your hat. Essay readers will not take your word for it. If you are arguing something reasonable, you should be able to prove it, and population, if you don't it will look like you can't.
For every assertion you make, give proof and explanation. Topic sentences can also help you make sure your paragraphs are all unified . Each paragraph should be about only acute injury nclex questions one thing . If there is any sentence in population a paragraph which is not on topic, it should either be moved to the paragraph where it belongs, or thrown out. If nothing in the paragraph can be clearly related to your essay's main idea, the whole paragraph has to go. Your body paragraphs must all work to prove your thesis: this makes your essay coherent . To assure your reader that your essay is coherent or hangs together, you need to have smooth transitions between paragraphs. A formulaic way to e crm, move from one paragraph to the next is to say something like, Another example. or The third point is. , but this is very mechanical and so doesn't have the finesse of an population A paper! Using such formulae is handy for a first draft, but as you improve your paper, try to replace mechanical transitions with more interesting ones. Think about the ideas you are trying to e crm, express: what do they have in common? What is the difference between the last idea and this one? You can use the similarities and rapid, differences to compose interesting transition sentences which help you show why you decided to organize your paper the of the, way you did, and population growth, also give more significance to your points. Handy comparison and contrast words can assist you here: (of course you will fill in what do the colors represent the details!) Although/While this last idea is like this, this next idea is like that; This last idea is like this, and this new idea is also/similarly like this with these important differences or further details. You can also use time sequence (e.g.
Next/Meanwhile ), or cause and effect (e.g. Consequently/If. Rapid! then ). The conclusion of an essay wraps things up. It reiterates the main idea in different words, and pierre, looks back over rapid, how the thesis was proven. Seagull Play! As well as summing up , the e crm, conclusion should leave the reader satisfied that the time it took to rapid population growth, read the essay was well spent. So, remember Miles Davis and acute injury, answer the question, So What? Why is all this important? What are the population growth, implications of e crm, what you have argued? What does it mean in the big world?
