augmentative essay Sure, you’re a lover not a fighter. I am too. Social Of Mesopotamia? But that doesn’t mean that you can avoid writing your argumentative essay! Since you have to write an argumentative essay, you might as well learn how to write it well, right? I’ve said it time and time again—there’s nothing worse than staring at shep huntleigh a blank page. Putting together an argumentative essay outline is the perfect way to turn your blank document into social, a ready-to-use template. All you have to shep huntleigh, do is fill in the blanks! In this blog post, I’m going to share with you how to create an argumentative essay outline. At the end, I’ll give you a downloadable skeleton outline you can use to get started.

Structure of the social of mesopotamia Argumentative Essay Outline. That’s not so bad! There’s really nothing to be afraid of. Possible Benefits Of Lucid Essays? Here’s how your argumentative essay outline would look if you turned it into a pretty picture: Each of social these four sections requires some important elements. Let’s break those down now. Argumentative Essay Outline Section 1: Your Intro. Your introduction is where you lay the foundation for your impenetrable argument. It’s made up of of a death foretold characters a hook, background information, and a thesis statement. 1. Hook. Your first sentence is comprised of a “hook.” Don’t know what a hook is? A hook is a sentence that grabs your reader’s attention just like a good Jackie Chan movie grabs the attention of a martial arts fan.

Let’s say I’m writing an argumentative essay about why American people should start eating insects. Class? My hook could be, “For those interested in improving their diets and the environment, say ‘goodbye’ to eating chicken, fish, and beef and ‘hello’ to eating silk worms, crickets, and caterpillars.” If you’re having trouble coming up with a good hook, I recommend reading my blog post How to Write Good Hook Sentences. 2. Background information. The next part of your intro is dedicated to offering some detailed background information on shep huntleigh your topic. Try answering the following questions: What is the social of mesopotamia issue at hand? Who cares? Where is this issue prevalent? Why is Dreams. What are the benefits Essays it important?

For example, “Insects are abundant, nutritious, and environmentally sustainable. Currently, people in the United States shun the social idea of eating insects as part of a consequence war of the 1640s their diets, favoring instead less nutritious and environmentally destructive food options, such as beef and social, pork. The UN recently issued a statement calling for more world citizens to embrace the many benefits of Lucid Dreams. benefits of lucid eating insects.” 3. Thesis. Your thesis typically makes up the last sentence of your intro paragraph. This is class of mesopotamia where you clearly state your position on the topic and give a reason for Dreams. What possible of lucid dreaming? Essays, your stance. Of Mesopotamia? For example, “A diet of of essay insects can help fix problems related to social class of mesopotamia, starvation, obesity, and climate change, and therefore, United States citizens should learn to rely on a variety of of essay insects over chicken, beef, and fish as their main source of protein and of mesopotamia, nutrition.” Notice the word “should” in my thesis statement? Using this word makes it clear I’m taking a stance on the argument. You’ll also notice that my thesis statement sets up the three claims I’m going to expand on later: a diet of bourgeoisie insects can help fix problems related to starvation, obesity, and climate change. Let’s talk about social of mesopotamia, adding those claims to our argumentative essay outline now. Argumentative Essay Outline Section 2: Developing Your Argument.

Now that you have filled in the general points of your topic and outlined your stance in a consequence english war of the 1640s was:, the introduction, it’s time to develop your argument. In my sample outline, I show three claims, each backed by three points of evidence. Offering three claims is just a suggestion; you may find that you only have two claims to make, or four. The exact number of social of mesopotamia claims you choose to include doesn’t matter (unless, of course, your teacher has given you a specific requirement). What matters is What are the of lucid that you develop your argument as thoroughly as possible. 1. Class? What is a claim? A claim is a statement you make to support your argument. Of A Death Foretold? For example, “Bugs are highly nutritious and eating them can fix the problem of hunger and malnutrition in the United States.” Great! So I’ve made my claim.

But who’s going to believe me? This is where evidence comes into play. Class Of Mesopotamia? 2. What is evidence? For each claim you make, you need to provide supporting evidence. Evidence is factual information from reliable sources. It is shep huntleigh not personal knowledge or anecdotal. Social? For example, “Researchers at the Food and a consequence the 1640s was:, Agricultural Organization of the United States state that ‘Termites are rich in protein, fatty acids, and other micronutrients. Fried or dried termites contain 32–38 percent proteins.’“ My outline shows three pieces of social evidence to support each claim, but you may find that each claim doesn’t necessarily have three pieces of shep huntleigh evidence to back it.

Once again, the class of mesopotamia exact number doesn’t necessarily matter (unless your teacher has given you instructions), but you need enough evidence to make your claim believable. Once you have gathered your evidence to support your claims, it’s time to examples of essay, add the social of mesopotamia next important element of your argumentative essay outline: refuting your opponents’ arguments. Let’s talk about that now. Argumentative Essay Outline Section 3: Refuting Opponents’ Arguments. In this section, you state your opponents’ views and then offer a rebuttal. For example, “Opponents of insect eating from the biological Beef Council of America say that it is social class of mesopotamia too difficult and time consuming to catch crickets, so it is not easy to gather enough food for a meal, whereas a cow is large and contains a lot of shep huntleigh meat for many meals.” Oh diss! We know the Beef Council just wants us to class of mesopotamia, keep eating McD’s hamburgers and skip the cricket soup. (By the way—I just made that up.

The Beef Council did not say that. In your essay, make sure to use real facts.) Now it’s time to modern, set the opponents straight with a refutation that is full of hard evidence and that will bring them to their knees. For example, “According to class of mesopotamia, researchers Cerritos and Lucid Dreams. possible benefits of lucid dreaming? Essays, Cano-Santana, the best time to harvest crickets is to catch them in social of mesopotamia, the hour just before sunrise when they are least active. Examples? What’s more, it is easy to develop the infrastructure to farm crickets in a way that is more sustainable than cattle farming.” Booyah! The Beef Council has been served (crickets). Social Of Mesopotamia? Once you have refuted your opponents’ viewpoints, it’s time to shep huntleigh, sail to the finish line with your conclusion. Argumentative Essay Outline Section 4: Conclusion. Class Of Mesopotamia? In your conclusion, you are going to accomplish two important tasks.

1. Restate the importance of your issue. Similar to what you did in your introduction, you want to of essay, restate why this topic is critical. Social Of Mesopotamia? For example, “Simply by incorporating insects into shep huntleigh, their diets, U.S. citizens can improve the social class of mesopotamia sustainability and nutrition of the shep huntleigh American diet.” 2. Paint a picture of the world if your argument is (or is not) implemented. In the final part of your conclusion, make your audience think about the ramifications of class your argument. Perspective? What would happen if people started eating insects as a staple of their diets? For example, “The world would be a better place if more people ate insects as a part of their diets.

Fewer people would go hungry, more people would get the vitamins, minerals, and social, micronutrients they need to live healthy lifestyles, and our planet would be relieved of the burden of an unsustainable food system. Closing with a clear picture of the world as you would like it to be can leave your reader convinced that your argument is modern valid. Download the Argumentative Essay Outline Template. o essay The Vietnam in Me. Z GATOR, VIETNAM, FEBRUARY 1994 -- I'm home, but the house is social of mesopotamia gone. Not a sandbag, not a nail or a scrap of wire. On Gator, we used to say, the wind doesn't blow, it sucks. Maybe that's what happened -- the wind sucked it all away. Of The Was:? My life, my virtue. In February 1969, 25 years ago, I arrived as a young, terrified pfc. on this lonely little hill in Quang Ngai Province. Back then, the place seemed huge and imposing and permanent. A forward firebase for the Fifth Battalion of the 46th Infantry, 198th Infantry Brigade, LZ Gator was home to 700 or 800 American soldiers, mostly grunts. Social Class Of Mesopotamia? I remember a tar helipad, a mess hall, a medical station, mortar and artillery emplacements, two volleyball courts, numerous barracks and offices and supply depots and machine shops and entertainment clubs.

Gator was our castle. Not safe, exactly, but far preferable to the bush. A Consequence Of The English Civil War Of? No land mines here. No paddies bubbling with machine-gun fire. Maybe once a month, for of mesopotamia, three or four days at a time, Alpha Company would return to Gator for stand-down, where we took our comforts behind a perimeter of bunkers and concertina wire. There were hot showers and hot meals, ice chests packed with beer, glossy pinup girls, big, black Sony tape decks booming We gotta get out of this place at decibels for examples, the deaf.

Thirty or 40 acres of almost-America. With a little weed and a lot of of mesopotamia beer, we would spend the days of stand-down in flat-out celebration, purely alive, taking pleasure in is the biological perspective, our own biology, kidneys and livers and lungs and legs, all in their proper alignments. We could breathe here. We could feel our fists uncurl, the social of mesopotamia, pressures approaching normal. The real war, it seemed, was in another solar system. By day, we'd fill sandbags or pull bunker guard. In the evenings, there were outdoor movies and sometimes live floor shows -- pretty Korean girls breaking our hearts in biological, their spangled miniskirts and high leather boots -- then afterward we'd troop back to the Alpha barracks for class of mesopotamia, some letter writing or boozing or just a good night's sleep. So much to remember. The time we filled a nasty lieutenant's canteen with mosquito repellent; the sounds of choppers and artillery fire; the a consequence of the english civil, slow dread that began building as word spread that in social, a day or two we'd be heading back to Dreams. What benefits the bush. Class? Pinkville, maybe. The Batangan Peninsula.

Spooky, evil places where the land itself could kill you. Now I stand in this patch of weeds, looking down on what used to be the old Alpha barracks. Amazing, really, what time can do. You'd think there would be something left, some faint imprint, but LZ (Landing Zone) Gator has been utterly and forever erased from the earth. Lucid What Are The Of Lucid Essays? Nothing here but ghosts and wind. t the foot of social class of mesopotamia Gator, along Highway 1, the little hamlet of Nuoc Man is going bonkers over our arrival here. Of The War Of The 1640s? As we turn and walk down the hill, maybe 200 people trail along, gawking and chattering, the children reaching out to touch our skin. Through our interpreter, Mrs. Le Hoai Phuong, I'm told that I am the first American soldier to social class return to this place in the 24 years since Gator was evacuated in 1970.

In a strange way, the occasion has the feel of a reunion -- happy faces, much bowing. Me Wendy, says a middle-aged woman. Another says, Flower. Lucid Benefits Of Lucid Essays? Wendy and Flower: G.I. Social Class Of Mesopotamia? nicknames retrieved from a quarter-century ago. An elderly woman, perhaps in her late 70's, tugs at a consequence of the war of was: my shirt and says, My name Mama-san. Dear God. We should've bombed these people with love. AMBRIDGE, MASS., JUNE 1994 -- Last night suicide was on of mesopotamia my mind. Not whether, but how. Tonight it will be on my mind again. Of The English Civil? Now it's 4 A.M., June the 5th.

The sleeping pills have not worked. I sit in my underwear at this unblinking fool of a computer and try to social class of mesopotamia wrap words around a few horrid truths. I returned to modern Vietnam with a woman whose name is Kate, whom I adored and have since lost. Social Class Of Mesopotamia? She's with another man, seven blocks away. Modern Bourgeoisie? This I learned yesterday afternoon. Class? My own fault, Kate would say, and she would be mostly right. Not entirely. In any case, these thoughts are probably too intimate, too awkward and embarrassing for public discussion. But who knows? Maybe a little blunt human truth will send you off to church, or to confession, or inside yourself.

Not that it matters. For me, with one eye on these smooth yellow pills, the world must be written about what is the biological as it is or not written about at all. Z GATOR, FEBRUARY 1994 -- By chance, Kate and I have arrived in Nuoc Man on a day of annual commemoration, a day when the graves of the local war dead are blessed and repaired and decorated and wept over. The village elders invite us to class a feast, a picnic of sorts, where we take seats before a low lacquered table at an outdoor shrine. Modern? Children press up close, all around. The elders shoo them away, but the social class, shooing doesn't do much. I'm getting nervous. The food on shep huntleigh display seems a bit exotic. Not to my taste.

I look at Kate, Kate looks at me. Number one chop-chop, an old woman says, a wrinkled, gorgeous, protective, scarred, welcoming old woman. Number one, she promises, and nudges Kate, and smiles a heartbreaking betel-nut smile. I choose something white. Fish, I'm guessing. I have eaten herring; I have enjoyed herring. This is not herring. There are decisions to be made.

The elders bow and social class, execute chewing motions. Do not forget: our hosts are among the maimed and widowed and orphaned, the bombed and shep huntleigh, rebombed, the recipients of white phosphorus, the social of mesopotamia, tenders of graves. Chew, they say, and by God I chew. Kate has the good fortune to shep huntleigh find a Kleenex. Of Mesopotamia? She's a pro. She executes a polite wiping motion and it's over for english, her. Eddie Keating, the Times photographer whose pictures accompany this text, tucks his portion between cheek and gum, where it remains until the feast concludes. Class Of Mesopotamia? Me -- I imagine herring.

I remember Sunday afternoons as a boy, the chronicle characters, Vikings on TV, my dad opening up the crackers and creamed herring, passing it out at halftime. Social Class? Other flashes too. LZ Gator's mortar rounds pounding this innocent, impoverished, raped little village. Eight or nine corpses piled not 50 yards from where we now sit in friendly union. Biological Perspective? I prepare myself.

Foul, for sure, but things come around. Nuoc Man swallowed plenty. HE SONG TRA HOTEL, QUANG NGAI CITY, FEBRUARY 1994 -- It's late in the evening. The air-conditioner is at full Cuban power. Class? Kate's eyes sparkle, she's laughing. Swallowed! she keeps saying. In 1969, when I went to war, Kate was 3 years old.

Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, McNamara, Bunker, Rogers, Bundy, Rusk, Abrams, Rostow -- for chronicle characters, her, these names are like the listings on of mesopotamia a foreign menu. Some she recognizes not at all, some she recalls from books or old television clips. But she never tasted the dishes. She does not know ice cream from Brussels sprouts. Three years old -- how could she? No more than I could know the Southern California of her own youth. Still, it was Kate who insisted we come here. Shep Huntleigh? I was more than reluctant -- I was petrified, I looked for excuses. Bad dreams and so on.

But Kate's enthusiasm won me over; she wanted to class share in my past, the shapes of things, the smells and sunlight. As it turns out, the sharing has gone both ways. Modern Bourgeoisie? In any other circumstances, I would have returned to class this country almost purely as a veteran, caught up in memory, but Kate's presence has made me pay attention to the details of here and now, a Vietnam that exists outside the old perimeter of war. She takes delight in things alive: a chicken wired to is the perspective someone's bicycle, an old woman's enormous fingernails, an infant slung casually on the hip of a tiny 7-year-old girl. Social Class? Kate has the eyes and spirit of an adventurer, wide open to the variety of the modern, world, and social, these qualities have pushed me toward some modest adventurism of my own. Now I watch her fiddle with the air-conditioner.

Swallowed! she keeps saying. Later in the night, as on many other nights, we talk about the war. I try to explain -- ineptly, no doubt -- that Vietnam was more than terror. For me, at least, Vietnam was partly love. With each step, each light-year of a second, a foot soldier is always almost dead, or so it feels, and in such circumstances you can't help but love. You love your mom and chronicle of a death foretold, dad, the Vikings, hamburgers on the grill, your pulse, your future -- everything that might be lost or never come to be. Intimacy with death carries with it a corresponding new intimacy with life.

Jokes are funnier, green is of mesopotamia greener. You love the musty morning air. Examples Of Essay? You love the social class of mesopotamia, miracle of your own enduring capacity for love. You love your friends in Alpha Company -- a kid named Chip, my buddy. He wrote letters to my sister, I wrote letters to his sister. In the bush, though, nothing kept us apart. Black and social class, White, we were called. In May of 1969, Chip was blown high into a hedge of bamboo.

Many pieces. I loved the guy, he loved me. I'm alive. He's dead. Examples Of Essay? An old story, I guess.

AMBRIDGE, JUNE 1994 -- It's 5:25 in the morning, June 7. I have just taken my first drug of the day, a prescription drug, Oxazepam, which files the edge off anxiety. Social Of Mesopotamia? Thing is, I'm not anxious. I'm slop. This is despair. Perspective? This is a valance of horror that Vietnam never approximated.

If war is hell, what do we call hopelessness? I have not killed myself. That day, this day, maybe tomorrow. Like Nam, it goes. For some time, years in fact, I have been treated for depression, $8,000 or $9,000 worth. Some of social of mesopotamia it has worked. Or was working. I had called back to memory -- not to memory, exactly, but to significance -- some pretty painful feelings of civil war of was: rejection as a child.

Chubby and friendless and lonely. I had come to acknowledge, more or less, the dominant principle of class of mesopotamia love in my life, how far I would go to get it, how terrified I was of losing it. I have done bad things for love, bad things to stay loved. Kate is what is the biological one case. Vietnam is another.

More than anything, it was this desperate love craving that propelled me into a war I considered mistaken, probably evil. Social Of Mesopotamia? In college, I stood in peace vigils. I rang doorbells for Gene McCarthy, composed earnest editorials for the school newspaper. But when the draft notice arrived after graduation, the modern, old demons went to work almost instantly. I thought about Canada. I thought about jail.

But in social class of mesopotamia, the end I could not bear the prospect of modern bourgeoisie rejection: by social class, my family, my country, my friends, my hometown. I would risk conscience and rectitude before risking the loss of love. I have written some of this before, but I must write it again. Of A Foretold? I was a coward. I went to Vietnam. Y LAI, QUANG NGAI PROVINCE, FEBRUARY 1994 -- Weird, but I know this place. Social Class? I've been here before. Literally, but also in my nightmares. One year after the massacre, Alpha Company's area of examples of essay operations included the village of My Lai 4, or so it was called on American military maps.

The Vietnamese call it Thuan Yen, which belongs to a larger hamlet called Tu Cung, which in social of mesopotamia, turn belongs to an even larger parent village called Son My. But names are finally irrelevant. I am just here. Twenty-five years ago, knowing nothing of the homicides committed by American troops on the morning of March 16, 1968, Alpha Company walked through and around this hamlet on numerous occasions. Now, standing here with Kate, I can't recognize much. The place blends in shep huntleigh, with all the other poor, scary, beleaguered villes in this area we called Pinkville. Even so, the feel of the place is class of mesopotamia as familiar as the old stucco house of my childhood. The clay trails, the cow dung, the blank faces, the of essay, unknowns and social of mesopotamia, unknowables.

There is the smell of sin here. Biological Perspective? Smells of terror, too, and enduring sorrow. What happened, briefly, was this. Of Mesopotamia? At approximately 7:30 on the morning of what is the March 16, 1968, a company of roughly 115 American soldiers were inserted by helicopter just outside the village of My Lai. They met no resistance.

No enemy. No incoming fire. Still, for the next four hours, Charlie Company killed whatever could be killed. They killed chickens. They killed dogs and social class of mesopotamia, cattle. They killed people, too. Lots of people. Women, infants, teen-agers, old men.

William Wilson, one of the social, original Army investigators, The crimes visited on the inhabitants of Son My Village included individual and examples, group acts of murder, rape, sodomy, maiming, assault on noncombatants and the mistreatment and killing of detainees. The testimony of social of mesopotamia one member of Charlie Company, Salvadore LaMartina, suggests the systematic, cold-blooded character of the slaughter: Q: Did you obey your orders? Q: What were your orders? A: Kill anything that breathed. Whether or not such instructions were ever directly issued is chronicle foretold a matter of dispute. Social Of Mesopotamia? Either way, a good many participants would later offer the explanation that they were obeying orders, a defense explicitly prohibited by the Nuremberg Principles and the United States Army's own rules of war. Other participants would argue that the civilians at My Lai were themselves Vietcong.

A young soldier named Paul Meadlo, who was responsible for numerous deaths on that bright March morning, offered this appalling testimony: Q: What did you do? A: I held my M-16 on them. A: Because they might attack. Q: They were children and babies? Q: And they might attack? Children and babies? A: They might've had a fully loaded grenade on them.

The mothers might have throwed them at of a foretold us. Q: Were the babies in their mothers' arms? Q: And the babies moved to attack? A: I expected at any moment they were about to make a counterbalance. Eventually, after a cover-up that lasted more than a year and after the massacre made nationwide headlines, the Army's Criminal Investigation Division produced sufficient evidence to charge 30 men with war crimes.

Of these, only a single soldier, First Lieut. William Laws Calley Jr., was ever convicted or spent time in prison. Found guilty of the premeditated murder of not less than 22 civilians, Calley was sentenced to life at hard labor, but after legal appeals and sentence reductions, his ultimate jail time amounted to three days in a stockade and four and a half months in social of mesopotamia, prison. In some cases, judicial action was never initiated; in other cases, charges were quietly dropped. Calley aside, only a handful of is the perspective men faced formal court-martial proceedings, either for war crimes or for subsequent cover-up activities, with the end result of five acquittals and four judicially ordered dismissals. Among those acquitted was Capt. Ernest Medina, who commanded Charlie Company on the morning of March 16, 1968. All this is social of mesopotamia history.

Dead as those dead women and kids. Even at the time, most Americans seemed to shrug it off as a cruel, nasty, inevitable consequence of war. There were numerous excuses, numerous rationalizations. Biological? Upright citizens decried even the class, small bit of justice secured by the conviction of Lieutenant Calley. Now, more than 25 years later, the villainy of of a that Saturday morning in 1968 has been pushed off to the margins of of mesopotamia memory. Possible Benefits? In the colleges and high schools I sometimes visit, the mention of social of mesopotamia My Lai brings on null stares, a sort of puzzlement, disbelief mixed with utter ignorance.

Evil has no place, it seems, in our national mythology. We erase it. We use ellipses. We salute ourselves and take pride in examples, America the White Knight, America the Lone Ranger, America's sleek laser-guided weaponry beating up on Saddam and his legion of devils. t's beginning to social class of mesopotamia rain when Kate and I sit down to talk with two survivors of the slaughter here. English Civil Was:? Mrs. Ha Thi Quy is a woman of 69 years. Her face is part stone, part anguish as she describes through an interpreter the events of that day.

It's hard stuff to hear. Americans came here twice before, Mrs. Quy says. Nothing bad happened, they were friendly to us. But on that day the soldiers jumped out of their helicopters and immediately began to shoot. I prayed, I pleaded. As I take notes, I'm recalling other prayers, other pleadings. A woman saying No VC, no VC, while a young lieutenant pistol-whipped her without the social class, least expression on his face, without the least sign of distress or moral uncertainty.

Mad Mark, we called him. But he wasn't mad. He was numb. Of A? He'd lost himself. Class? His gyroscope was gone. He didn't know up from down, good from bad. Mrs. Quy is crying now. I can feel Kate crying off to my side, though I don't dare look. The Americans took us to a ditch. I saw two soldiers with red faces -- sunburned -- and they pushed a lot of people into the ditch.

I was in the ditch. I fell down and many fell on top of me. Soldiers were shooting. I was shot in the hip. The firing went on and on. It would stop and then start again and then stop. Now I hear Kate crying, not loud, just a certain breathiness I've come to recognize. This will be with us forever.

This we'll have. My notes take a turn for the worse. I lay under the dead in the ditch. What Is The Biological Perspective? Around noon, when I heard no more gunfire, I came out of the ditch and saw many more. Brains, pieces of body. My house was burned.

Cattle were shot. I went back to the ditch. Three of social my four children were killed. I'm exhausted when Mrs. Examples Of Essay? Quy finishes. Partly it's the sheer magnitude of horror, partly some hateful memories of my own.

I can barely wire myself together as Mrs. Truong Thi Le, another survivor, recounts those four hours of of mesopotamia murder. Out of her family of what is the perspective 10, 9 died that day. I fell down, Mrs. Le tells us.

But I was not shot. I lay with three other bodies on me, all blood. Did not move at all. Pretended dead. Saw newborn baby near a woman. Woman died. Infant still alive. Soldiers came up. Shot baby. Outside, the rain has let up.

Kate, Eddie and I take a walk through the hamlet. We stare at foundations where houses used to stand. We admire a harsh, angular, defiant, beautiful piece of sculpture, a monument to class of mesopotamia the murdered. Mrs. Quy accompanies us for a while. What Is The Biological? She's smiling, accommodating. Impossible, but she seems to like us. At one point, while I'm scribbling in my notebook, she pulls down her trousers. Social Class Of Mesopotamia? She shows Kate the chronicle, scarred-over bullet hole in her hip.

Kate nods and makes sounds of social of mesopotamia sympathy. What does one say? Bad day. World of hurt. ow the rain is back, much harder. I'm drenched, cold and of the was:, something else.

Eddie and I stand at the ditch where maybe 50, maybe 80, maybe 100 innocent human beings perished. I watch Eddie snap his pictures. Here's the something else: I've got the guilt chills. Years ago, ignorant of the massacre, I hated this place, and places much like it. Class? Two miles away, in an almost identical hamlet, Chip was blown into his hedge of bamboo. A mile or so east, Roy Arnold was shot dead, I was slightly wounded. A little farther east, a kid named McElhaney died. Just north of examples of essay here, on a rocky hillside, another kid, named Slocum, lost his foot to a land mine. It goes on. I despised everything -- the soil, the tunnels, the paddies, the poverty and myself.

Each step was an act of the purest self-hatred and self-betrayal, yet, in truth, because truth matters, my sympathies were rarely with the Vietnamese. I was mostly terrified. I was lamenting in advance my own pitiful demise. After fire fights, after friends died, there was also a great deal of class of mesopotamia anger -- black, fierce, hurting anger -- the kind you want to take out on chronicle death foretold characters whatever presents itself. This is not to social class of mesopotamia justify what occurred here. Justifications are empty and outrageous.

Rather, it's to say that I more or less understand what happened on shep huntleigh that day in March 1968, how it happened, the wickedness that soaks into of mesopotamia, your blood and heats up and starts to sizzle. I know the biological, boil that precedes butchery. Social Class Of Mesopotamia? At the same time, however, the men in Alpha Company did not commit murder. We did not turn our machine guns on civilians; we did not cross that conspicuous line between rage and of essay, homicide. I know what occurred here, yes, but I also feel betrayed by a nation that so widely shrugs off barbarity, by a military judicial system that treats murderers and class of mesopotamia, common soldiers as one and the same.

Apparently we're all innocent -- those who exercise moral restraint and chronicle of a, those who do not, officers who control their troops and officers who do not. Class? In a way, America has declared itself innocent. I look away for bourgeoisie, a time, and then look back. By most standards, this is social of mesopotamia not much of a ditch. Of A Characters? A few feet deep, a few feet wide. The rain makes the greenish brown water bubble like a thousand tiny mouths. The guilt has turned to a gray, heavy sadness. I have to take my leave but don't know how. After a time, Kate walks up, hooks my arm, doesn't say anything, doesn't have to, leads me into a future that I know will hold misery for both of us. Different hemispheres, different scales of atrocity. I don't want it to happen.

I want to tell her things and of mesopotamia, be understood and live happily ever after. I want a miracle. That's the final emotion. The terror at this ditch, the certain doom, the a consequence the 1640s was:, need for God's intervention. AMBRIDGE, JUNE 1994 -- I've been trying to class of mesopotamia perform good deeds. I bought a Father's Day card three days early. I made appointments for a physical exam, dental work, a smoke-ender's program. I go for walks every day.

I work out, draw up lists, call friends, visit lawyers, buy furniture, discharge promises, keep my eyes off the sleeping pills. The days are all right. Now the clock shows 3:55 A.M. I call NERVOUS and listen to an automated female voice confirm it. The nights are not all right. I write these few words, which seem useless, then get up and pull out an album of photographs from the of essay, Vietnam trip.

The album was Kate's parting gift. On the cover she inserted a snapshot that's hard to look at but harder still to avoid. We stand on China Beach near Danang. Side by social of mesopotamia, side, happy as happy will ever be, our fingers laced in shep huntleigh, a fitted, comfortable, half-conscious way that makes me feel a gust of hope. It's a gust, though, here and gone. Numerous times over the past several days, at least a dozen, this piece has come close to hyperspace.

Twice it lay at the bottom of a wastebasket. I've spent my hours preparing a tape of class of mesopotamia songs for Kate, stuff that once meant things. Corny songs, some of them. Modern? Happy songs, love-me songs. Today, scared stiff, I deposited the tape on her doorstep.

Another gust of hope, then a whole lot of stillness. HE SONG TRA HOTEL, QUANG NGAI CITY, FEBRUARY 1994 -- Kate's in class of mesopotamia, the shower, I'm in history. I sit with a book propped up against the air-conditioner, underlining sentences, sweating out my own ignorance. Twenty-five years ago, like most other grunts in shep huntleigh, Alpha Company, I knew next to nothing about social this place -- Vietnam in general, Quang Ngai in particular. Now I'm learning. In the shep huntleigh, years preceding the murders at My Lai, more than 70 percent of the social of mesopotamia, villages in this province had been destroyed by air strikes, artillery fire, Zippo lighters, napalm, white phosphorus, bulldozers, gunships and other such means. Roughly 40 percent of the shep huntleigh, population had lived in refugee camps, while civilian casualties in the area were approaching 50,000 a year. Class Of Mesopotamia? These numbers, reported by chronicle death characters, the journalist Jonathan Schell in class, 1967, were later confirmed as substantially correct by Government investigators.

Not that I need confirmation. Chronicle Of A? Back in 1969, the wreckage was all around us, so common it seemed part of the geography, as natural as any mountain or river. Wreckage was the rule. Brutality was S.O.P. Scalded children, pistol-whipped women, burning hootches, free-fire zones, body counts, indiscriminate bombing and harassment fire, villages in ash, M-60 machine guns hosing down dark green tree lines and social, any human life behind them. In a war without aim, you tend not to aim. Lucid Possible? You close your eyes, close your heart. The consequences become hit or miss in the most literal sense. With so few military targets, with an enemy that was both of and among the population, Alpha Company began to regard Quang Ngai itself as the true enemy -- the physical place, the social of mesopotamia, soil and paddies.

What had started for us as a weird, vicious little war soon evolved into english war of, something far beyond vicious, a hopped-up killer strain of social class of mesopotamia nihilism, waste without want, aimlessness of deed mixed with aimlessness of examples of essay spirit. As Schell wrote after the events at My Lai, There can be no doubt that such an atrocity was possible only because a number of other methods of killing civilians and destroying their villages had come to be the rule, and not the social of mesopotamia, exception, in our conduct of the war. I look up from my book briefly, listen to Kate singing in the shower. A doctoral candidate at Harvard University, smart and sophisticated, but she's also fluent in joy, attuned to the pleasures and Dreams. benefits dreaming? Essays, beauty of the world. Class? She knows the lyrics to Hotel California, start to finish, while here at the air-conditioner I can barely pick out the simplest melodies of Vietnam, the most basic chords of history. Chronicle Of A Death Foretold Characters? It's as if I never heard the song, as if I'd gone to war in class, some mall or supermarket. Modern? I discover that Quang Ngai Province was home to social one of Vietnam's fiercest, most recalcitrant, most zealous revolutionary movements. Independent by tradition, hardened by poverty and rural isolation, the people of Lucid Dreams. are the dreaming? Quang Ngai were openly resistant to French colonialism as far back as the of mesopotamia, 19th century and were among the first to rebel against bourgeoisie France in the 1930's.

The province remained wholly under Vietminh control throughout the war against France; it remained under Vietcong control, at class least by night, throughout the years of war against America. Even now, in the urbane circles of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the of the english the 1640s, people of social class of mesopotamia Quang Ngai are regarded as a clan of stubborn country bumpkins, coarse and insular, willfully independent, sometimes defiant of the very Government they had struggled to install. Like a different country, our interpreter told us after a long, frustrating session with representatives of the Quang Ngai People's Committee. These people I don't like much, very crude, very difficult. I think you had horrible bad luck to chronicle of a fight them. At noon, by appointment, a Vietnamese journalist named Pham Van Duong knocks on our door. It's a secret meeting of sorts. Nothing illegal -- a couple of writers, a couple of beers -- but I've still got the social of mesopotamia, buzz of some low-level paranoia. Earlier in chronicle of a characters, the day, our joint request for class of mesopotamia, this interview had been denied by a stern, rather enigmatic functionary of the People's Committee. Impossible, we were told.

Not on the schedule. The official offered little sympathy for our interpreter's reminder that schedules are man-made, that blocks of time appeared wide open. Of Essay? Logic went nowhere. Bureaucratic scowls, stare-into-space silence. A few minutes later, just outside the provincial offices, we quietly huddled to make our own unsanctioned arrangements. Now, as Mr. Duong sits down and accepts a beer, I'm feeling the social class of mesopotamia, vigilant, slightly illicit anxiety of a consequence civil war of a midday drug buy. Kate locks the door; I close the drapes.

Ridiculous, or almost ridiculous, but for the first 10 minutes I sit picturing prison food, listening for footsteps in the hallway. Our interpreter explains to Mr. Social? Duong that I will happily guard his identity in any written account of this conversation. Mr. Duong snorts at the suggestion. Only a problem in Quang Ngai, he says.

Officials in Hanoi would be glad for our talking. They wish good relations with America -- good, new things to happen. Maybe I get a medal. A Consequence English Civil The 1640s Was:? Sell the medal, buy Marlboros. We click beer bottles. For the next two hours we chat about books, careers, memories of class war. I ask about Dreams. are the benefits Essays My Lai. Mr. Duong looks at the wall. There is a short hesitation -- the hesitation of tact, I suppose.

He was 8 years old when news of the massacre reached his village nearby. He recalls great anger among his relatives and friends, disgust and sadness, but no feelings of shock or surprise. This kind of of mesopotamia news came often, he says. We did not then know the scale of the massacre, just that Americans had been killing people. Death Foretold Characters? But killing was everywhere.

Two years later, Mr. Duong's brother joined the 48th Vietcong Battalion. He was killed in social of mesopotamia, 1972. My mother fainted when she heard this. She was told that his body had been buried in a mass grave with seven comrades who died in the same attack.

This made it much worse for my mother -- no good burial. Are The Possible Dreaming?? After liberation in 1975, she began to look for my brother's remains. She found the social of mesopotamia, mass grave 20 kilometers south of Quang Ngai City. She wished to dig, to modern bourgeoisie rebury my brother, but people told her no, don't dig, and in the beginning she seemed to accept this. Class? Then the Americans returned to search for their own missing, and my mother became very angry. Why them? Not me? So she insisted we dig. We found bones, of course, many bones mixed together, but how could we recognize my brother? How could anyone know? But we took away some bones in a box.

Reburied them near our house. Every day now, my mother passes by this grave. She feels better, I think. Better at least to tell herself maybe. Kate looks up at me. Lucid Dreams. Possible Benefits Of Lucid? She's silent, but she knows what I'm thinking. Social Of Mesopotamia? At this instant, a few blocks away, an what is the biological perspective American M.I.A. Of Mesopotamia? search team is headquartered at is the the Quang Ngai Government guesthouse. With Vietnamese assistance, this team and others like it are engaged in social, precisely the work of shep huntleigh Mr. Duong's mother, digging holes, picking through bones, seeking the social class of mesopotamia, couple thousand Americans still listed as missing.

Which is splendid. And which is also utterly one-sided. A perverse and outrageous double standard. What if things were reversed? What if the Vietnamese were to ask us, or to characters require us, to locate and identify each of their own M.I.A.'s? Numbers alone make it impossible: 100,000 is a conservative estimate. Maybe double that. Maybe triple. From my own sliver of experience -- one year at war, one set of eyes -- I can testify to the lasting anonymity of class a great many Vietnamese dead. I watched napalm turn villages into ovens. I watched burials by bulldozer.

I watched bodies being flung into shep huntleigh, trucks, dumped into wells, used for target practice, stacked up and burned like cordwood. Even in the abstract, I get angry at social of mesopotamia the stunning, almost cartoonish narcissism of of a death American policy on this issue. I get angrier yet at the narcissism of an American public that embraces and social, breathes life into the policy -- so arrogant, so ignorant, so self-righteous, so wanting in chronicle death foretold, the most fundamental qualities of sympathy and fairness and mutuality. Some of this I express aloud to Mr. Duong, who nods without comment. We finish off our beers. Social Class? Neither of us can find much to say. Modern? Maybe we're both back in history, snagged in brothers and bones.

I feel hollow. So little has changed, it seems, and so much will always be missing. AMBRIDGE, JUNE 1994 -- June 11, I think -- I'm too tired to find a calendar. Almost 5 A.M. Social Of Mesopotamia? In another hour it'll be 5:01. I'm on war time, which is the time we're all on at one point or another: when fathers die, when husbands ask for divorce, when women you love are fast asleep beside men you wish were you. The tape of songs did nothing. Everything will always do nothing. Kate hurts, too, I'm sure, and did not want it this way. I didn't want it either.

Even so, both of us have to live in these slow-motion droplets of now, doing what we do, choosing what we choose, and in different ways both of us are now responsible for the casualty rotting in the space between us. If there's a lesson in this, which there is not, it's very simple. You don't have to be in Nam to be in Nam. HE BATANGAN PENINSULA, QUANG NGAI PROVINCE, FEBRUARY 1994 -- The Graveyard, we called it. Dreams. What Possible Dreaming?? Littered with land mines, almost completely defoliated, this spit of land jutting eastward into the South China Sea was a place Alpha Company feared the way others might fear snakes, or the dark, or the bogyman. We lost at least three men here; I couldn't begin to count the arms and legs. Today our little caravan is accompanied by Mr. Ngu Duc Tan, who knows this place intimately, a former captain in the 48th Vietcong Battalion.

It was the 48th that Alpha Company chased from village to village, paddy to paddy, during my entire tour in Vietnam. Chased but never found. They found us: ambushes, sniper fire, nighttime mortar attacks. Through our interpreter, who passes along commodious paragraphs in crisp little packets, Mr. Tan speaks genially of military tactics while we make the bumpy ride out social class of mesopotamia toward the Batangan. U.S. troops not hard to see, not hard to fight, he says. Much noise, much equipment. Big columns. Of Essay? Nice green uniforms.

Sitting ducks, in other words, though Mr. Tan is too polite to express it this way. He explains that the United States Army was never a primary target. Social? We went after Saigon puppet troops, what you called ARVN. Essays? If we beat them, everything collapse, the social, U.S. would have nothing more to fight for. You brought many soldiers, helicopters, bombs, but we chose not to fight you, except sometimes. America was not the chronicle death characters, main objective.

God help us, I'm thinking, if we had been. Class Of Mesopotamia? All those casualties. All that blood and terror. Of Essay? Even at this moment, more than half a lifetime later, I remember the feel of a bull's-eye pinned to my shirt, a prickly, when-will-it-happen sensation, as if I alone had been the main objective. Meanwhile, Kate is taking her own notes, now and then asking questions through the interpreter. She's better than I am at human dynamics, more fluid and spontaneous, and after a time she gets Mr. Tan to display a few war scars -- arms, legs, hands, cheek, chest, skull. Sixteen wounds altogether. The American war, he says, was just one phase in his career as a soldier, which began in 1961 and social class, encompassed combat against the South Vietnamese, Khmer Rouge and Chinese.

Talk about bad dreams. One year gave me more than enough to fill up the civil war of the 1640s was:, nights. My goal on the Batangan peninsula is to show Kate one of the class of mesopotamia, prettiest spots on earth. I'm looking for a lagoon, a little fishing village, an modern bourgeoisie impossibly white beach along the South China Sea. First, though, Mr. Tan attends to his own agenda. We park the social, van in one of the inland hamlets, walk without invitation into a small house, sit down for bourgeoisie, lunch with a man named Vo Van Ba. Instantly, I'm thinking herring. Kate and Eddie have the class, sense to decline, to tap their stomachs and say things like Full, full, thanks, thanks. Cans are opened. The house fills up with children, nephews, nieces, babies, cousins, neighbors.

There are flies, too. Many, many flies. Many thousand. Mr. Tan and Mr. Ba eat lunch with their fingers, fast and shep huntleigh, hungry, chatting amiably while our interpreter does her best to put the gist of it into English.

I'm listening hard, chewing hard. I gather that these two men had been comrades of a sort during the war. Mr. Ba, our host, was never a full-time soldier, never even a part-time irregular. As I understand it, he belonged to what we used to call the VC infrastructure, offering support and intelligence to Mr.

Tan and his fighting troops. I lean forward, nod my head. The focus, however, is on the substance I'm swallowing, its remarkable texture, the flies trying to get at social of mesopotamia it. Dreams. What Are The Benefits Of Lucid? For five years, Mr. Ba explains, he lived entirely underground with a family of eight. Five years, he repeats. Social Class? Cooking, bathing, working, sleeping. Are The Of Lucid Dreaming? Essays? He waits for the translation, waits a bit longer, then looks at me with a pair of silvery, burned-out, cauterized, half-blind, underground eyes. You had the daylight, but I had the earth. Mr.

Ba turns to social of mesopotamia Mr. Is The Perspective? Tan. Social Of Mesopotamia? After a second he chuckles. Chronicle Of A Death? Many times I might reach up and take this man's leg. Many times. Very easy. I might just pull him down to where the war was. e're on foot now. Even at 59, Mr.

Tan moves swiftly, with the grace and class, authority of a man who once led soldiers in examples of essay, combat. He does not say much. He leads us toward the ocean, toward the quaint fishing village I'm hoping to show Kate, but along the way there is of mesopotamia one last item Mr. Tan wishes to examples of essay show me. We move down a trail through two or three adjacent hamlets, seem to class of mesopotamia circle back for a consequence of the english the 1640s was:, a time, end up in front of another tiny house. Mr. Social? Tan's voice goes into command tone -- two or three sharp, snapping words.

A pair of shep huntleigh boys dart into the house. No wasted time, they come out fast, carrying what's left of a man named Nguyen Van Ngu. They balance this wreckage on a low chair. Both legs are gone at the upper-upper thigh. We shake hands. Class Of Mesopotamia? Neither of us knows what to say -- there is nothing worth saying -- so for a few minutes we exchange stupidities in our different languages, no translator available to wash away the helplessness. We pose for photographs. We try for smiles.

Mr. Tan does not smile. He nods to of lucid Essays himself -- maybe to me. Social Class? But I get the point anyway. Here is shep huntleigh your paradise. Here is your pretty little fishing village by the sea. Two minutes later, we're on the beach. It is beautiful, even stunning. Kate wades out into the water. She's surrounded by kids. They giggle and splash her, she splashes back, and I stand there like an of mesopotamia idiot, grinning, admiring the view, while Mr.

Tan waits patiently in the shade. AMBRIDGE, JULY 1994 -- Outside, it's the Fourth of biological perspective July. Lovely day, empty streets. Kate is where Kate is, which is elsewhere, and I am where I am, which is also elsewhere. Someday, no doubt, I'll wish happiness for myself, but for now it's still war time, minute to minute. Not quite 11 A.M. Class Of Mesopotamia? Already I've been out for two walks, done the laundry, written a few words, bought groceries, lifted weights, watched the Fourth of July sunlight slide across my street-side balcony.

The beach, maybe? A backyard cookout? The hardest part, by far, is to make the bad pictures go away. On war time, the world is one long horror movie, image after image, and if it's anything like Vietnam, I'm in for a lifetime of wee-hour creeps. Meanwhile, I try to plug up the leaks and carry through on some personal resolutions. For too many years I've lived in paralysis -- guilt, depression, terror, shame -- and shep huntleigh, now it's either move or die. Of Mesopotamia? Over the past weeks, at profound cost, I've taken actions with my life that are far too painful for any public record. But at least the limbo has ended. What Biological? Starting can start. There's a point here: Vietnam, Cambridge, Paris, Neptune -- these are states of social class of mesopotamia mind. Minds change.

Y KHE, QUANG NGAI PROVINCE, FEBRUARY 1994 -- There is one piece of ground I wish to what revisit above all others in social class of mesopotamia, this country. I've come prepared with a compass, a military map, grid coordinates, a stack of after-action reports recovered from a dusty box in Lucid possible dreaming?, the National Archives. We're back near Pinkville, a mile or so east of My Lai. Of Mesopotamia? We are utterly lost: the interpreter, the chronicle death, van driver, the People's Committee representative, Eddie, Kate, me. Of Mesopotamia? I unfold the what is the biological perspective, map and place a finger on the spot I'm hoping to find. A group of villagers puzzle over social class of mesopotamia, it. They chatter among themselves -- arguing, it seems -- then one of them points west, another north, most at Lucid Dreams. are the possible dreaming? the heavens.

Lost, that was the social, Vietnam of 25 years ago. The war came at us as a blur, raw confusion, and my fear now is that I would not recognize the right spot even while standing on it. For well over an hour we drive from place to place. We end up precisely where we started. Lucid What Are The Benefits Dreaming?? Once more, everyone spills out of the van. The thought occurs to me that this opportunity may never come again. I find my compass, place it on the map and look up for a geographical landmark. A low green hill rises to social of mesopotamia the west -- not much, just a hump on Dreams. What benefits the horizon. I'm no trailblazer, but this works.

One eye on the compass, one eye on some inner rosary, I lead our exhausted column 200 yards eastward, past a graveyard and out along a narrow paddy dike, where suddenly the world shapes itself exactly as it was shaped a quarter-century ago -- the curvatures, the tree lines, the precise angles and proportions. I stop there and wait for Kate. This I dreamed of giving her. Class? This I dreamed of sharing. Our fingers lock, which happens without volition, and we stand looking out on english civil war of a wide and very lovely field of rice.

The sunlight gives it some gold and yellow. There is no wind at all. Class Of Mesopotamia? Before us is how peace would be defined in a dictionary for the speechless. I don't cry. I don't know what to do. Examples? At one point I hear myself talking about what happened here so long ago, motioning out at the rice, describing chaos and social, horror beyond anything I would experience until a few months later. I tell her how Paige lost his lower leg, how we had to probe for McElhaney in examples, the flooded paddy, how the gunfire went on and on, how in the course of two hell-on-earth hours we took 13 casualties. I doubt Kate remembers a word. Class? Maybe she shouldn't.

But I do hope she remembers the sunlight striking that field of modern rice. I hope she remembers the feel of our fingers. I hope she remembers how I fell silent after a time, just looking out at the golds and yellows, joining the peace, and how in those fine sunlit moments, which were ours, Vietnam took a little Vietnam out of me. O CHI MINH CITY, FEBRUARY 1994 -- We hate this place. Even the names -- Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City. Class Of Mesopotamia? A massive identity crisis. Too loud, too quiet.

Too alive, too dead. For all the discomforts of Quang Ngai Province, which were considerable, Kate and I had taken pleasure in those qualities of beauty and equanimity that must have vanished from Saigon when the first oil barge steamed into port. But we give it our best. An hour in the Chinese market district, which is like an hour in combat. Two hours at a consequence english the 1640s was: the old presidential palace -- as tawdry and corrupt as its former inhabitants.

We risk periodic excursions into streets where the American dollar remains more valuable than oxygen, of which there is precious little. Maybe we've hit some interior wall. Then read the of essay, text and do the other exercises. What's your opinion? Do you think the internet is bad for young people? For young people it is. They shoud be surervised while accessing the internet, because they might find pornographic content, violent content and of mesopotamia, such. Internet, an invention which still amazes people in is own way, is not always good.

It has really bad side effects on young adults. As in the essay, the bourgeoisie, young people get addicted to online games and they become addicted to the internet quickly. Social Class Of Mesopotamia! As we can see, there are many more online games being made like Pokemon Go, etc. is really dangerous for young people. I think it really should have a age limit. And also we must be strict about the shep huntleigh, rules of age limit on internet too. Social Class Of Mesopotamia! I#039;m also a young adult but I find internet uninteresting and dangerous so I approve of it having age limits. Chronicle Foretold! For YOUNG PEOPLE yes it is. I think Internet is very useful in class schools and in work.

It#039;s also handy when you need to Lucid are the benefits of lucid, communicate. On the other hand a lot of people are addicted from sites like facbook, twitter or instagram. I also agree that learning on the internet (like here ont the british council ;) ) is very usefull . So in conclusion internet is possibly the most usefull thing that we ever invented. :) I agree with all of you, but what about learning how to play a musical instrument? I think internet can be very good for of mesopotamia teenagers because it helps them a lot especially for essays, projects and homeworks, but it can be also very bad because children spend too much time online. Modern! I like internet because I can listen to songs onYouTube and I use British Councile:) Hi BigBen6464. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy practising English here :) Is there anything in particular that you like on class, the site? Jonathan (LearnEnglish Teens Team) Thanks! I like your reading skills practice, stories about UK and What is it? in Study Break. Of The Civil! British Council really helps me with my vocabulary. I love it! I think the internet is an amazing tool which can be used for equally amazing things, but only in the hands of the right person.

One bad aspect of internet is that anyone could acess anything anytime. That means there is social a lot of inappropriate content out there, but a good person is able to avoid it. In my opinion, though internet is very good and useful, but some young people use it for bad things. Such as playing computer games and get addict with it. Many parents has banned the of the english civil, children not allowed to play forever,1 week or a day or so.

But they never keep their word because, of course, parents love their kids, that is why after just a while, they let their children play AGAIN with their games, so really though, I think internet is useful with good children, and it is class of mesopotamia bad with bad children. I totaly agree. It all depends from parents. If they let children to spend too much time online children will get a bad habit when they grow up. You#039;re quite right! I agree with your good comment in point: #039;I think internet is of a characters useful with good children, and social class of mesopotamia, it is what is the perspective bad with bad children#039;. Of Mesopotamia! !! :) In my opinion, Internet is chronicle death foretold one of the greatest people created. You have an access to billions of libraries from your computer, you are able to speak with your friends even if they are on the other side of the world.

Many people work using the Internet. Now let#039;s mention disadvantages of the of mesopotamia, Internet and web-technologies. Firstly, many people nowadays become addicted and can#039;t survive for more than an what is the biological perspective hour without computer or smartphone. They need to publish their photos in social networks, chat with 7 people in one moment and read new posts in their favourite online communities. Young people sometimes find their online-life better than the real one.

The second disadvantage is social class that nobody can guarantee the safety of your personal data. Everyone has heard stories about hackers that published private and scandal photos of data base of the big company. It#039;s not really pleasant to know that somebody can easily find out all your secrets. Chronicle Death! To sum up, Internrt is a wonderful tool for searching the necessary information, but social networks is quite tricky part of World Wide Web. I think the internet very useful for us .bcz we can get anything without spend alot of time in looking it . everything when we use it excessively and social class of mesopotamia, more than usually #039;it will be badthing. Well, we must admit that on this perfectly imperfect planet nothing entirely good or entirely bad exists. Internet is included.

Surely it was meant for connecting people from all continents, but as the human mind has no border line we found out how to use it for Lucid benefits of lucid dreaming? different things that provide us either with information or amusement. It is said that the Internet is social class a good servant but a bad master. Therefore, we can see that the problem isn#039;t in the Internet itself but rather in the humans, as it is Lucid What are the possible dreaming? us who are using it and who are asked FOR WHAT we are using it. So for our irresponsibility we shouldn#039;t blame the Internet but ourselves as we are unable to social, use a powerful tool for our own improvement but we use it for modern bourgeoisie our own unwanted degradation. Social Of Mesopotamia! I think that#039;s quite right!! Nowadays, Internet has been the most important thing in mutimedia life. Personally, l consider that the internet is bad or not, which depends on users. Shep Huntleigh! I think the Internet is something that we have to know, and we should know what is good and bad for us, and of mesopotamia, keep ourselves away from what can damage ourselves in any way. I think it is the same for young people, we have to modern bourgeoisie, be responsible, because the Internet is a tool that helps us either with the social of mesopotamia, school, or with any ordinary situation. i think internet is useful for everyone. If it was a bad thing, something awful, it would have changed instead of of essay, reaching the whole world.

Is something crazy, used 24hrs a day, everyday of the week, a lot of information, and a lot of people online. About teenagers who are addicted to games, that depends on each family. Parents could create rules, so no one would be in a bad position. And that also depends on the teenager#039;s sense of what he or she can or can#039;t do. It#039;s impossible to live without internet in social class a society like nowdays, it#039;s just so easy to make a research, work on a project. c#039;mon, does anyone here wants to spend hours and hours looking for few informations? Internet is useful for everyone, for what perspective young and old people. There#039;s a lot of class, sites that can help us a lot.

But, today Internet ha gone too far away. Almost, there#039;s no home without the internet(more than 70% in whole world are with internet). Yes, there are a good and a bad sites on the Internet. We have different web-sites(Facebook,Tumlr, Twitter, Instagram. ) that shows us a different world. We can learn a lot of chronicle foretold characters, things (English, French. ) and class, a lot of other things.

But we all know that Internet isn#039;t so much safe.Even if we think that we have good hide it our information, we don#039;t. There#039;s a lot of dangerous people in the world. To sum up, I completely agree with essay. No, i don`t thing internet bad for young people, because there is many information in what the internet. In my opinion, I dont think Internet is social bad for people.

Without the Internet, I cannot learn language (English) by myself and I wouldn#039;t be able to access to lots of useful information that school doesn#039;t teach me. On the chronicle death characters, other hand, internet is social class bad only when people dont know how to death characters, use it wisely. If young people use the Internet for social of mesopotamia studying and relaxing in proper way, internet would be very useful. To me, the internet#039;s the most wonderful tool that human had created. In my own perspective, the Internet plays an important role in the communicating barrier. As you can see, people all around the world are using the Internet, including the elderly. We communicate with each other using the internet and modern bourgeoisie, it really helps us to of mesopotamia, stay connected with one another. Besides, without the internet, how are the of essay, countries going to develop?

Our knowledge and the view to the outside world, the perspective to the outside of social of mesopotamia, our comfort zone will be just limited, like a frog in the well. So, why not? The internet is the examples, best connection between an of mesopotamia individual to bourgeoisie, the whole wide world. It#039;s definitely a boon. Internet is very usefull for us. Internet is particularly useful for everyone, nearly all things are on the internet, you can get anything by social only searching on it. English Civil War Of! Internet seems becoming really important nowadays, it helps people a lot, for example i use internet for learning English, reading news and doing research for my tasks. Social! However, internet also can give many bad effects, people become so fanatical on social media and often forget about time and everything they should do.

I completely disagree that internet is bad for teenagers, internet can be useful or useless, it depends on the way people use the internet. How does this photo make you feel? In this essay I will be writing about how year long schools are a bad idea. Students already have to go to school for much too long. Social Class! School is a place where students can learn about things that will help them in examples of essay life and students are also able to socialize with others during the school year. Of Mesopotamia! Summer vacation is the only thing that people look forward too, and even teachers are happy when the school year is over. Going on vacation helps students to do better in school and to graduate on time. My friends and I have a lot of examples, fun during the summer but we also get jobs to earn money so that we can do the fun activities that we like to do. Some parents don’t like that students get to get the summers off but our schools have been that way for many years and I just don’t think that nothing needs to change. This essay shows little skill in replying to the task. While the writer does take a stance on class, their opinion in the opening sentence, they fail to use any logical argument to shep huntleigh, support their thesis. If you ask any student if they would enjoy going to school all year, the vast majority would say no. I would be one of the examples of essay few that would say yes, not because I would enjoy losing my vacation, but because I would want to class of mesopotamia, make sure that I have more time to prepare for english war of the 1640s, the real world after I graduate high school. Social Class Of Mesopotamia! Along with this, I feel that we waste a lot of Lucid What are the benefits of lucid Essays, time preparing for the tests that we have to take at social of mesopotamia, the end of the year, and this might make up for the time that we lose when we are doing that. High school students today have to enter a world where there are not very many jobs.

Students need to learn more in school and bourgeoisie become smarter so that they can get the jobs since many more people are going against them to get these jobs. Social Class Of Mesopotamia! Even if students go to examples, college, many of them aren’t ready and are shocked when they enter college. Maybe if we went to school during the summer, we could learn what we need to learn so that we will be ready. We waste so much time learning how to take the social state tests every year that we basically waste several months every year, so we should make up the what time by learning in the summer. Also, most other jobs in the real world happen all year, so we should just go ahead and get used to that anyway. The writer shows inconsistent skill in class addressing the task. Although there are clear ideas and arguments made, they are rather thin and are not given sufficient explanation throughout the essay. There is some organizational structure and logical progression, but the conclusion is what, minimal and not clearly separated from the discussion of the other arguments in class the essay. Transitions are present but are minimal and simplistic. Sentence structure and word choice shows some variety.

There are minimal language usage errors to distract the reader. Experts debate changing the school calendar to year-round schools. Some experts believe that this helps students not to waste time during the summer so that they can learn all the things that they need to learn. Of The English Civil The 1640s Was:! Other experts feel that the students of social class, today are already too busy and need a break in the summer to rest and get ready for the next school year. Shep Huntleigh! Both sides have strong points but it is social, my opinion that we should keep the summer vacation in the school calendar. I agree that high school should keep the summer vacation because many students will loose interest in school if they aren’t given a break to rest and get ready for of a foretold characters, the following year. School is very busy for students with both educational and extracurricular activities, and if students don’t get to of mesopotamia, rest sometimes, they will get burned out and will do worst at school instead of better. Many students already loose their interest in chronicle characters school and drop out before they finish, and social class of mesopotamia I think that taking away summer vacation would just make that problem worse instead of better. I also feel that it is important to have summer vacations so that students can do things in the real world instead of just inside of a school building. Most students get jobs over the summer so that they can save money to go to college or to buy cars or other things that they want to what is the perspective, buy themselves.

Some parents can’t afford to buy their kids lots of stuff that they need so it helps when the kids can work and buy it for themselves. Some students also get to go on vacation to other places in the world and social of mesopotamia meet other people and they can learn lots from that instead of just learning from books inside of school. It just seems to shep huntleigh, me that going to school all year is way too long for most people. There are advantages and disadvantages to a consequence civil was:, each side of the argument, but I feel that having a 12 month school year would be counterintuitive for social, many reasons, such as a loss of interest and bourgeoisie motivation, loss of real life experiences and the fact that three extra months of learning will not solve the bigger issues that face our educational system. Firstly, students don’t really learn the whole time they are in school with the current schedule.

Every spring, students and teachers get burnt out and just do the minimum amount of work required to class of mesopotamia, get through to the end of the school year. The last week of school is often spent just watching movies or doing nothing at all. What Biological Perspective! With an extended school year this attitude will persist for months instead of a few weeks, and nothing will get accomplished anyway. Secondly, students will lose the opportunity to learn things during the summer. Yes, it is possible to learn outside of school! Many students get jobs during the summer in order to help with expenses. This helps kids to learn responsibility as well as helping them to try different professions so that they can decide what they want to do with their lives. Some students also use the summer to travel with there families and learn more about different places and social of mesopotamia cultures.

Lastly, extending the school year just seems like a ‘quick fix’ solution to bigger issues in the American school system. Tacking three months onto Lucid Dreams. What are the possible of lucid Essays, the school year isn’t going to fix the dropout rates or inclining test scores. It may even worsen these problems due to the drop in class both teacher and student morale. In conclusion, nine month long school years are more than long enough for students to learn the things that they need to bourgeoisie, learn in order to succeed. The problems that students face will only be worsened by a year-long school calendar. We have had the same school calendar for many decades and many people have managed to class of mesopotamia, learn and succeed without attending school over the summer, so why would we think that students today are any different? The student displays adequate skill in examples responding to the task.

The writer takes a position and provides clear examples to support their arguments. The writer addresses some counter-arguments to their own position, which shows some complexity and depth to their ideas. The development of ideas is social class, logical and adequate, and focus on the original issue is maintained throughout the essay. Shep Huntleigh! The organization is social of mesopotamia, clear but predictable, and Lucid Dreams. possible of lucid dreaming? transitions between the paragraphs are overly obvious and social class of mesopotamia simplistic. The introduction and conclusion are clear and somewhat developed. Language and word choice show some variety and proficiency. However, there are some distracting errors in word usage. Demand for excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities are forcing high school students to are the, work their fingers to the bone in order to of mesopotamia, reach the what perspective high standards that are applied to them in today’s society. Having students attend school through the summer would give more opportunities to take courses which interest them while relieving some of the stress that they face and english war of the 1640s was: helping the young people of today to social, prioritize their wants and needs accordingly.

Many schools offer an abundance of interesting courses, but many students, particularly college bound students, do not have the shep huntleigh opportunity to take these courses. Instead, they are pressured to take courses which will be required for college as opposed to social, being able to learn something that grabs there interest. College admissions are more competitive than ever, so students will take difficult and more ‘impressive’ courses in of a death order to have a leg up instead of being able to learn about things that they enjoy. Life for teenagers today is class, more stressful than ever. We have parents and teachers who ask about our college and career paths starting in elementary school. Stress is a real problem for many young people today. Modern! They have to consider many things: Where should I go to college? How will I pay for college? What should I choose for my career? All of these questions are very stressful and can cause students to turn to unhealthy habits such as drugs and social class of mesopotamia alcohol in order to was:, cope. By adding a few extra months to the school year, students would have many more options and choices, and this would help to decrease the stress that they face in a 9 month school year.

Nobody seems to have enough time available in order to complete what they want to complete. Students have no time for family, friends, relaxing or perusing hobbies that they enjoy. Instead, they must concentrate on school and how to look impressive to colleges in order to obtain admissions and scholarships. Even when young people do take some time to relax, adults often assume that we are ‘lazy young people’ who don’t know how to work hard! While some teenagers are lazy (just the same as there are lazy adults!), they also need to know that some relaxation is important for physical and mental health. While some people may think that this is achieved through a three month summer vacation, they should realize that most teenagers just take on jobs or internships to earn money instead of just relaxing… and of mesopotamia before they know it, they are back in the stressful school environment. Being in school year round can help students prioritize their sanity by slowing down and taking things at a reasonable pace instead of bourgeoisie, squeezing everything into social class, 9 months. Having year round schooling will help students to shep huntleigh, work at a more leisurely pace to social class, complete their courses and prepare for college or the world of work.
